- Don Copan was an active member of the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee and later became the founding President of the Century Park Museum Association. While a member of the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee, Don created a scrapbook album of photographs and ephemera documenting the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee’s involvement in celebrating British Columbia’s Centenary of Confederation between January and December 1971 including Burnaby’s Commemorative Project – Heritage Village (Burnaby Village Museum).

- Dark brown frame with a burlap backing. A metal bell is fixed to the frame with a mount and two screws. The mount has three screw holes, but only two screws are present.
The bell is a yellow metal and is blackened inside. The gong inside the bell is also blackened and a white dense rope is afixed to the gong.

- In 1986, Loughborough, England became Burnaby's second sister city after a twinning ceremony on May 6 1986. Robert Burnaby was born in Loughborough. To commemorate this occasion, Mayor Albert Dodd from Loughbourough presented two gifts - the bell to symbolize Loughborough and the Burnaby cost of arms.

Orange garland

- The garland consist of several hundred small pieces of orange fabric in different patterns and shades. They are tied around the base, a thin white rope.
- Object History
- These items were collected as part of the Museum's response to the news of 215 unmarked children's graves found at the Kamloops Residential School in June 2021. These items came from engagement activities the public were invited to take part in for several weeks and consider the impact of the discovery in their own lives.
- This garland was built by members of the public tying an orange piece of fabric to a string. These garlands lined the Cedar Grove in the Village.
- There were a number of other elements to the commemorative display at the Museum. At the Church, there was a display of children's shoes and poetry. Visitors were invited to reflect and write a message to the children, the families or anyone connected to this tragic finding. Visitors were invited to write a message on an orange index card.

- Gold (10K) rectangular pendant, with rounded edges. "BAE" is engraved in cursive on the front, standing for Blyth Alfred Eagles. On the back in cursive reads "From Grandma Tidy on occasion of matriculation 1918." A small hoop is at the top for threading through a neckalce or other chain.
- Object History
- Blythe Eagles's paternal grandparents, Charles and Maude Eagles, immigrated to New Westminster in 1887.
Blythe and Violet Eagles purchased property at Deer Lake in 1929 and began construction of their home shortly before their marriage on June 25, 1930.Violet was an enthusiastic amateur gardener, maintaining and continually developing the garden. The Eagles were active volunteers in the local community as well as at UBC. When Simon Fraser University opened in Burnaby, they became well-known for entertaining dignitaries and special guests of the university in their lavish garden. After Violet's death in 1993, the estate was sold to the City of Burnaby.

- The plaque was presented to Burnaby Village Museum in April 1987 to commemorate the opening of Seaforth School as a museum exhibit.
Seaforth School was originally built in the Lozells neighbourhood in North Burnaby in 1922, on Government Road at Piper Avenue. In 1983, the school was moved to its current site on the grounds of the Burnaby Village Museum and it remains a protected heritage building in Burnaby.

- Two original pressed poppy flowers in frame; Handwritten inscription in black ink reads: "Poppies from Battlefield of Givenchy. Gathered in 1916. Presented by Mr. Randle Taylor, 102 C.E.F." Two poppies are mounted on beige coloured paper beneath a piece of glass, within a wooden frame, painted black.

- The poppies were gathered on the battlefield of Givenchy in 1916 and presented by Mr. Randle Taylor, 102nd Battalion C.E.F. Randle Taylor (1881-1963) was a Canadian citizen and resident of Vancouver. Randle Taylor volunteered for service on February 15, 1916. The Battle of Givenchy took place between December 18 and December 22 in 1914. The 102nd Battalion CEF was authorized on December 22, 1915, originating from Northern British Columbia. The Battalion embarked for Britain on June 18, 1916 and disembarked in France on August 12, 1916 where it fought as part of the 11th infantry Brigade, 4th Canadian Division in France and Flanders until the end of the war. Red field or corn poppies grew wild in clusters on and around the battle zones in the regions around Belgium and France. In May 1915, these vibrant red flowers caught the attention of a Canadian soldier by the name of Major John McCrae and inspired his poem "In Flanders Fields". During and after the war the poppy and its connection with the memory of those who died in that war was expanded to help the military and civilian survivors of that war.
