Description
The core of the Jessie Love farm house is a 1893 two story, pioneer tent style building. The home was added to over the years and became a large Craftsmen style farm house.
Object History
Built on Cumberland Road in Burnaby in 1893. Music Room/Parlour/Living Room and bedrooms above added c.1898. Kitchen added c.1908. The home of Jesse and Martha Love and their eleven children. One of Burnaby's oldest structures. The home was moved to Burnaby Village Museum in the late 1980s and has been partially restored to its 1920s appearance.

The Official Opening of Heritage Village - Invitation -- [1971]. Invitation to the Official Opening Luncheon of the Heritage Village by His Excellency The Right Honourable Roland Michener, Governor-General of Canada along with the Mayor and Municipal Council of Burnaby. The invitation was addressed to "Mrs. M. Trainer & guest" for a civic luncheon at The Astor Motor Hotel on November 19th, 1971. At the top of the invitation is an illustration of a blue rhododendron flower and the British Columbia Centennial '71 logo. The invitation measures 18.5cm x 14.5cm.
Object History
The invitation was issued to special guests to attend the official opening of Heritage Village (now the Burnaby Village Museum) in 1971, as well as a luncheon with the Governor General and his wife as special guests. This particular invitation was issued to Mary Trainer, who was the Centennial Co-ordinator charged with supporting the work of Burnaby's 1971 Centennial Committee, chaired by James Barrington. The Centennial Committee organized a variety of projects and events in 1971 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of British Columbia's entry into Confederation. The construction of the Heritage Village was their major project.

Don Copan was an active member of the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee and later became the founding President of the Century Park Museum Association. While a member of the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee, Don created a scrapbook album of photographs and ephemera documenting the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee’s involvement in celebrating British Columbia’s Centenary of Confederation between January and December 1971 including Burnaby’s Commemorative Project – Heritage Village (Burnaby Village Museum).

This plaque was created as a momento of the turn over of the Heritage Village by the Burnaby Centennial '71 committee to Mayor Robert W. Prittie on January 31. 1972. The plaque is shield shaped, made of oak wood with a square brass plate nailed to front and an antique door key, which has been plated in brass. There is a metal hanger nailed to the reverse.

Newsletter; created by Heritage Village Museum [1978]. Printed on newsprint, double sided, folded in centre. Newsletter also served as a map and guide of the village. The front page of the newsletter features articles "Robert Burnaby 1828 - 1878" and "The Steam and Sawmill Collection". The centre two pages open to a list of exhibits in the village with a site map.
