- Black, metal scale with a number of parts including; base, cradle, dish, weights, hanger, support bar, calibrator. Gold font along base reads "Champion". The iron plate of the scale is 24 cm by 38 cm. From the base ofthe scale to the top of the weighing pan is 40 cm high. The graduated bar is 32 cm long and will weigh up to 48 pounds. The body of the sale is made of heavy metal, but the pan support is made of a lighter type. THe post for the weighing pan has four small arms extending up from it which hold in a pivot fashion, the four pins of the end of the weighing arm. They project from the circular base of the arm which also has on it a hook that is depressed when weights are placed on it. At the time of accession, the scale had three different weights two 1.5 lb weights and a 1/2 pound weight.

- The label contains three Chinese characters written vertically on an orange coloured paper with a darker, orange coloured border. Characters are literally translated to: "capital/Beijing", "plum", "piece or slice". When adjusted for English comprehension, label is for Borneol. Borneol is a natural crystalline compound in the resin of Dipterocarp. From the cracks on the bark, the dry resin is removed and heated by steam which produces crystals after coling. - Yellow label with black text. Label contains Chinese characters that are literally translated to: "Watson's" and "home" and "made" and "top" and "up" and "Quinine" and "powder". When adjusted for English comprehension, product is " Watson's Quinine powder". Quinine is a treatment for malaria. It is also used to treat lupus and arthritis. Quinine was also frequently prescribed as an off-label treatment for leg cramps at night, but this has become less common due to a Food and Drug Administration warning that this practice is associated with life-threatening side effects. Brand name "Watsons" is for A.S.
