Camp blanket that was worn at camp and belonged to Kay Thomas, a longtime Guider from South Burnaby and one of the founding members of the Burnaby Royal Trefoil Guild.

Object History
Camp blanket that was worn at camp and belonged Vivian (Vie) Henderson (1923 - 2007). Mrs. Henderson was the second Burnaby Royal Area Commissioner, from 1974 to 1979. She had previously been a Brown Owl, Guide and Ranger leader, as well as a District and Division Commissioner. She was married to Phil Henderson, noted Burnaby community volunteer.

Object History
The donors immigrated to Burnaby from England and Sweden in the 1920s. One donor's parents bought three acres of land on Douglas Road, near the west end of Burnaby Lake. In 1927, they moved to a stump ranch on Springer and Union on the south side of Capitol Hill.

Brown fur coat in a swing coat style that is fitted at the shoulder and gently widen down the length of the coat. The coat is three quarter length with slightly belled sleeves. The coat has a shawl collar, two exterior slit pockets, and three loop closure buttons covered in the same fur.
The inside of the coat has a grey and brown plaid lining with subtle gold accents. There is an interior pocket decorated with an embroidered "A / P" in gold thread.
There is a maker's label inside the coat for Donaldson Furs.

Description
Fan, silk and lace; hand-painted.
The fant contains 22 wooden reibs, flat on the back side, somewhat rounded on the front side. Each is panted a bronze colour. The buttom of the ribs are all secured together by means of a brass pin which passed through each one.
Attached to this pin is a brass hook. the fan itself consists of a piece of brown sheer silk approximately 16.5 cm wise, edged along the top with a piece of brown machine made lace with a scalloped top border. The lace is approximately 5 cm wide. The lace is sewn to the silk. The silk is secured to each rib along their etire common surface by means of glue.
The face of the fan when unfurled is painted in a very delicate spray of snowdrops and forget-me-nots. This painting appears to be done by hand.

Description
Pakhi is a hand held fan. Tha fan has a pole like centre where a paddle is attached and swings freely around the pole. The bottom of the pole has a handle, and the top of the pole is painted fuchsia pink.
The paddle part of the fan is made of brown and green plasticized strips woven into a diamond pattern. The edge of the paddle is covered in a pleated white fabric trim.
Object History
These are items that belonged to the donors as household items in their home in Burnaby between 1976 and 2023.
Pakhi was made by donor before immigrating to Canada.

Description
Captain fire helmet from the Burnaby Fire Department. The helmet is red with yellow reflective strips around the the base. Also in reflective material is "CAPTAIN" printed in an arch on both sides. At the front of the helmet there is a patch of velcro that holds a reflective patch "B.F.D / E I". At the back of the helmet is "158". The helmet has a plexiglass visor at the front that is hinged to go up and down. Inside the helmet there is a piece of heavy fabric that would drape down the back of the neck. The helmet was made by Bullard and is a Firedome Model FX/FXA and PX/ PXA.
Object History
This equipment was used by Mr. Whitehurst during his career with the Burnaby Fire Department beginning in the mid 1970's to his recent retirement. He was Lieutenant, a Captain and an Assistant Fire Chief.
