- Program for the Official Opening and Dedication of the 1912 Burnaby Centennial Parker Carousel and the Don Wrigley Pavilion, at Burnaby Village Museum, March 25, 1993. The program is printed on heavy card stock of an off-white colour. The text and images are printed in a dark blue ink. The stock is an 11 by 17 inch sheet folded in half giving four pages 8.5 by 11 inches. The front cover features an artists image of a carousel and Burnaby logos. The first inside page features "The Story of the Carousel" , History of C.W. Parker Carousel No. 119" and "The Don Wrigley Pavilion". Page two features "Dedication Ceremony" program. The back cover features, "The Friends of the Carousel", Highlights of the New Facility", "Carousel Operation", "Acknowledgements" and "Special Thanks To".

- Note from donor: These items belonged to Eleanor Galbraith, a longtime Guider who came to B.C. from New Brunswick. The “Trefoil Guild” ribbon was an official ribbon that could be worn to vertically display Guiding pins and badges. The ribbon is no longer used. 1) Original Trefoil Guild pin with red banner (poss. awarded to Eleanor in New Brunswick), 2) BP pin (100th anniversary of Baden-Powell’s birthday – an earned pin), 3) World pin, 4) Thank-you badge (silver ring around blue enamel Trefoil with three white enamel swirls - poss. a thank-you from New Brunswick), 5) Long Service badges for 20, 50, 55 and 60 years - 50, 55 & 60 years awarded here (55 & 60 were awarded by Pauline Hall herself) – all earned pins) 6) Division Commissioner (red enamel trefoil) – an earned pin & poss. given in New Brunswick (it is older than the pin removed from the white camp hat that was not retained) 7) Silver Commissioner Pin (silver with blue enamel trefoil and ring, beaver at bottom) on cloth Commissioner Lapel Badge (silver ribbon of courage tied into reef knot, text “GIRL GUIDES” and outline in white stitching.) - cloth badge poss. to indicate Provincial Commissioner - this pin and cloth badge were removed from the bottom of the ribbon due to excessive weight.

- The shoulder bag is made of yellow canvas. Part of "A.R.P." (Air Raid Precautions) uniform. Probably not official but adapted by the user. "ARP" "WBW" is stencilled in black on the bag flap. The strap is hand-sewn to bag and the flap is secured by two snap-fastener closures

- Object History
- Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew's romance began in 1985. Early in 1986 the couple were engaged and subsequently married in Westminster Abbey on 23 July 1986. Prince Andrew had the title of The Duke of York bestowed upon him by the Queen. Sarah automatically became Her Royal Highness The Duchess of York. After some 4 years of being officially separated, the Duke and Duchess made the mutual decision to divorce in 1996.

Initials "C. C." are hand-stitched in red inside the collar (likely stands for Carmen Cooper, whose full name is written inside both the uniform hat and belt). Metal 5 year star on green felt and single year star on green felt, both pinned to left brest pocket flap. Three (3) light-coloured twill stripes sewn to front of left breast pocket. "23rd Vancouver Co." stripe and “SOUTH BURNABY” stripe sewn to left sleeve. Badges sewn vertically on left sleeve include: Second Class (green trefoil with star in top leaf) and Childcare (green cross). Badges sewn horizontally on right sleeve include: Laundress (green iron) and Hostess (green cup and saucer).

Wings (Brownie) sewn above left pocket. 2 year star with brown felt backing pinned to left pocket flap. Salvation Army Badge sewn on left pocket front. Three white stripes of adhesive cloth tape applied vertically to the front of the left breast pocket. Two B.C. Provincial Hat badges are pinned to the left collar point (these would not normally be worn on the uniform itself). Religion in Life badge (yellow alpha & omega symbols) sewn above right breast pocket. Gold Cord worn threaded through the right tab epaulet of the uniform dress and then hooked behind the button of the right breast pocket flap. - Salvation Army Guide uniform dress belonging to Virginia Blake, early 1960s. From the 6th Vancouver Salvation Army Guides on Hastings Street. Salvation Army was affiliated with Girl Guides (1937) of Canada until 1998. Worn with brown leather belt, beret, folded triangular company tie. The three white stripes on the right breast pocket indicate that wearer was a company leader. The more stripes you had, the higher your rank. A single white stripe, sewn down the center of the pocket, would have indicated that she was a patrol seconder. Two stripes would indicate that she was a patrol leader. White adhesive tape was used so that the Guider didn’t have to unstitch and re-sew the stripes as they gained rank.

- Victorian Order of Nurses (V.O.N.) seal is the tabletop stamping type which imprints the words "VICTORIAN ORDER OF NURSES" and "BURNABY BRANCH"; official; stamper is black metal, lever at top; "MADE IN CANADA" at side of base; seal disc is brass; label at front transcribes the words on the seal.
- Object History
- The Victorian Order of Nurses for Canada is a non-profit charitable organization created for the purposes of home care and social services established in 1898 to perpetuate the memory of Victoria the Good. The Burnaby Branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) was established in 1912 with Miss Colhoun as its first nurse. Florence Hart was born in 1898 in New Westminster, and moved to Burnaby when she was 13. Her family lived in what is now known as Hart House. Both Florence and her husband Harold Godwin were awarded life memberships from the VON (Victorian Order of Nurses) for more than half a century of service.
