- Evening bag, woman's, beaded with irridescent beads, fringe, metal frame features bird design.
- Object History
- Evening bag belonging to Catherine Bertha Rees. She was born in Greenwood, B.C. and came to Burnaby in 1919 with her father, Kingman Nott Rees, and her two brothers. The family settled at 3114 Neville Street, Burnaby (later re-numbered 5674 Neville Street). Catherine attended UBC, graduating with an Arts degree in 1923. She taught French and Latin for 35 years at Burnaby South High School, starting in 1929. Catherine was also a long-time volunteer at BVM.

- The shoulder bag is made of yellow canvas. Part of "A.R.P." (Air Raid Precautions) uniform. Probably not official but adapted by the user. "ARP" "WBW" is stencilled in black on the bag flap. The strap is hand-sewn to bag and the flap is secured by two snap-fastener closures

- The "A.R.P." bag belonged to Harry Cutress who was a volunteer with the Burnaby Air Raid Precautions.

- Description
- Regimental suitcase from RCAF during the Second World War. The lid of the case has white text painted on it "VICTORIA / R197821 / MARK T.C. / CANADA / RCAF AFM". The case has a leather handle and two metal locking clasps on the top. The inside of the case is lined with blue fabric and has two small pockets at the back.
- Object History
- Thomas "Tom" Charles Mark was born in 1923 and grew up in New Westminster where his father operated a Shell gas station at 402 6th St. He went to High School at Oak Bay in Victoria. Mr. Mark joined the Canadian Air Force in World War Two and was a Corpral - Air Frame Mechanic. He met his wife Joan Patricia (Dunne) Mark (1924-1987) in England and married her in 1945 before they returned to Canada. Their son was born in 1947. Mark was an active community volunteer and awarded the Kushiro Cup as Citizen of the Year in 1995.

- Description
- Suitcase made of cardboard with a dark grey/green coloured vinyl. The suitcase has metal edge detail and metal hardware including locks and hinges
- The locks and hinges are stamped with "CHENEY / ENGLAND". Both the locks and hinges have a ratcheting system in order to expand the suitcase in the event that the case is quite full.
- There is various strips of tape and tape residue around the exterior of the case.
- On the top side of the lid is a red plastic label "KALWANT SINGH PARMAR"
- Also on the lid of the case are two faded labels with a red band at the top.
- The inside of the suitcase is lined with a paper like material with a grey and white pixilated houndstooth pattern.
- There is a British Airways label inside the case with address information.
- Object History
- The suitcase was used by the donor when they immigrated from England (via India) on June 9 1973. They had been living in Coventry, England. They purchased the suitcase there. The donor flew from Amsterdam to Edmonton, Alberta on a Canadian Pacific Air Lines flight. They flew to Vancouver after that.
