- magazine; quarterly publication in English aimed at providing a forum for information exchange in China and Hong Kong trading; glossy cover; 32 p., black text and photographs on newsprint; bifold with two staples; printed by Food Hing Offset Printing Company Limited; front cover reads: "Business Pleasure" / "Special Issue / 1978 Canton Spring Fair"; photograph on front of small ceramic bowl filled with coins and red carnation standing in centre, bowl is seated on a pedestal, two small carved lion sculptures are seated on either side; bottom of front cover includes an ad for "Seiko" watches; back cover includes ad for "Bulova" watches.
- Object History
- Publication "Business Pleasure", was part of a scrapbook created by Cecil Chue Kan Lee documenting the time he was employed as a Prodcue Buyer for Kelly Douglas and Company Limited and Western Commodities Limited in the 1970s and early 1980s. As a produce buyer for Kelly Douglas, Cecil Lee worked closely with local farmers along Marine Drive and in the Fraser Valley. The Burnaby company was one of the largest food distributors in Canada. In the mid-1970s, Lee was asked to oversee the import of Chinese mandarin oranges into Canada. Until that time, mandarin oranges had come from Japan and were sold in the winter, especially at Christmas. When the Japanese market could no longer keep up with demand, Kelly Douglas looked to China. The company relied on Lee’s cultural knowledge to build this very profitable part of their business.

Don Copan was the founding president of the Century Park Museum Association in 1971 and served on the executive of the Century Park Museum Association (Burnaby Village Museum Association) until 1990 when the Corporation of the District of Burnaby assumed operation and management of the museum and the Burnaby Village Museum Associatioin was dissolved.

- "The Buzzer" was a weekly newsletter published by BC Electric Railway Co. and distributed on busses and streetcars. It gave weekly updates for transporation in the region. This Vol 40, No 16, for April 20, 1955. It is a special edition entitled "Rails to Rubber" and outlines the progress of the company and transporation from 1890 to 1955 when Street Cars were replaced with Busses. It advertises "YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED / TO TAKE A LAST RIDE / FREE / aboard / VANCOUVER'S STREET CARS / ON / SUNDAY, APRIL 24 - 1 to 5 PM / See / OLD No 53 at the P.N.E. / Cerimonies / Marking Completion of the Change / from / RAILS TO RUBBER / commence at 3 PM / in the GARDEN BUILDING"

- The core of the Jessie Love farm house is a 1893 two story, pioneer tent style building. The home was added to over the years and became a large Craftsmen style farm house.
- Object History
- Built on Cumberland Road in Burnaby in 1893. Music Room/Parlour/Living Room and bedrooms above added c.1898. Kitchen added c.1908. The home of Jesse and Martha Love and their eleven children. One of Burnaby's oldest structures. The home was moved to Burnaby Village Museum in the late 1980s and has been partially restored to its 1920s appearance.

- Shield Brand - Label. Paper label for Shield Brand Dry Sheathing. The label has a red background with a shield with a red cross in the middle of it. Around the sheild is a yellow outline that looks to be fire. The Shield Brand Dry Sheathing was manufactured by Lockerby & McCorm-- Limited on Shannon Street, Montreal. The label measures 11cm x 14cm.

- Description
- The locomotive known as, "Old Curly", is a small construction or logging engine fitted with a saddle tank for water and with two sand domes on top. The engine has a 0-4-4 wheel layout, that is no front truck, 4 driving wheels and a 4 wheel truck under the cab. There is no tender wood or coal was stacked at the rear of the cab. This engine has been altered several times in its career. There is a layer of insulation (asbestos?) between the saddle tank and the boiler. Round pane of clear "headlight glass" located at AB106-GS-6 in June 2019
- Object History
- This locomotive is also known as 'Emory'. The locomotive was nicknamed 'Curly', an expression used to describe the devil. The engine was built in San Francisco in the 1879 and was used during the building of the harbour sea wall. It was likley built by Marshutz & Cantrell. It was acquired by Andrew Onderdonk in 1881 to use during construction of the Fraser Canyon section of the Canadian Pacific Railroad (CPR). The locomotive was the first logging locomotive in this area. It was later used on the section from Savona Ferry to Kamloops. The locomotive was layed up in 1887 and not used for several years until it was purchased by the British Columbia Timber and Trading Company (BCTTC) for use on their logging railway in Surrey. In the early 1900s the engine was shifted from Surrey to the company operations north of Powell River. Its history of use is not known while it was in this area. It was brought back to Vancouver, in a damaged condition and stored on BCTTC property. It was acquired by the CPR and restored as a 50th Anniversary Project in 1930. It was displayed at the Pacific National Exhibition grounds until the 1973 when it was brought to Heritage Village (later BVM) and restored again.

- "213D / No. 104 / T.P. 240 / W.P. 150 / T.P.T. / 1900" stamped into a smooth area above the fire door in the cab. "3" brass number riveted to the front of the boiler and painted into the side of the front lantern.

- The locomotive is 26 feet 2 inches (793cm) long by 9 feet (374.3cm) wide and 12 feet (366cm) to the top of the smoke stack. The locomotive sits on 30 feet of track under a roofed shelter.
