- Was used by Burnaby resident Barbara Copan when she taught typing at Burnaby Central circa 1963-65. It may have originally belonged to Barbara's mother who also taught typing at Burnaby South High School circa 1957 to 1965. She mainly taught typing in night school.

- The number "7651" are stenciled out across the panel, surrounded by gray paint. The panel itself is a diagonal rectangle (parallelogram) shaped sign. There are four screws, one in each corner, with two rusting screws still intact in both the bottom right and left corner. The reverse of the panel is yellowed, and was also painted gray.
- Object History
- Panel was found in the attic of Love Farmhouse August 2021, where it had been since the farmhouse restoration project in the late 1990's. This panel was an original fixture on the home.

- Scope and Content
- Item consists of part two in a two part video series "A Taste of History" created by Debbie Liang and Joty Gill, University of British Columbia alumni and graduates from the Asian Canadian & Asian Migration Studies program (ACAM). Part two is titled "A Pig's Tale". The film highlights the history of Chinese pig farms also known as "Piggeries" in Burnaby. The film tells the story of how many of these farms were established by Chinese immigrants along Douglas Road (now Canada Way) between the 1890s and 1920s; the importance of the pig in the Chinese Culture as well as a way for Chinese immigrants to make a living and the racism and discriminatory bylaws that the Chinese pig farmers suffered that finally led to the closure of many of these farms. Content references three documented piggery ranches along Douglas Road: Ah Sam; Young Chung and Hop Hin Yen. The films are supported with voice over in english, subtitles, animation along with historical photographs. One version of the film is supported with subtitles in English while two other versions of the film are supported with subtitles in Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
- History
- In 2020, due to the restrictions of COVID-19, University of British Columbia student interns with the Burnaby Village Museum Chinese Canadian History in Burnaby project were asked to create virtual experiences to reimagine Burnaby Village Museum's historical Chinese Canadian programming in remote online spaces. Debbie Liang and Joty Gill (UBC alumni and graduates of Dr. Henry Yu's 2019 summer ACAM 390A Global Seminar to Aisa) returned to work with Burnaby Village Museum to create two short films showcasing the history of Chinese Canadian Chop Suey restaurants and piggeries in Burnaby.

- The core of the Jessie Love farm house is a 1893 two story, pioneer tent style building. The home was added to over the years and became a large Craftsmen style farm house.
- Object History
- Built on Cumberland Road in Burnaby in 1893. Music Room/Parlour/Living Room and bedrooms above added c.1898. Kitchen added c.1908. The home of Jesse and Martha Love and their eleven children. One of Burnaby's oldest structures. The home was moved to Burnaby Village Museum in the late 1980s and has been partially restored to its 1920s appearance.

- Small grocery or shopping cart. The cart was produced by Folding Carrier Corporation of Oklahoma. This cart is called the Nest Baskart which features a levered back panel to easily nest multiple carts together when not in use.
- The body of the cart is formed by metal spokes welded together to form a cage like pattern.
- The top of the cart has a large basket like area for holding items. The bottom of the cart has a sloped shelf that could have held another removable basket.
- The handle of the cart is covered in a hard black material, possibly hardened rubber or plastic.
- The cart features curved corners along the top and bottom of the basket area.

- It has four columns of keys for dollars and cents, three additional columns of digit keys, and three columns of keys with various functions on them. An addition bar and cancel button are across the base, and a paper tape at the top.

- There is a metal cash drawer that has plastic divisions for change and cash.
- There is a key that slots into a lock on the left side that controls the machine with a lever.

- This artifact has been passed down to all the girls in subsequent generations of the family, eventually to the donor, Mrs. Whiting. This series of 26 "Elsie" girls books are said, by the donor, to have been purchased by Jesse Love and his son in law Wallace (Flash) Whiting for the youngest of Jesse and Martha Love's children Hannah Victoria (Girlie) Love, age 10 at the time, and Annie (Love) Whiting's daughter Edith, age 8 at the time. The book series seems to have made their way through some of Jesse Love's daughter's children. Mrs. Whiting. Sarah (Love) Parker, daughter of Jesse Love, even named her daughter Elsie (Parker) Hughes after the main character of the series. The books seem to have made their way through the children and grand children of Annie (Love) and Wallace Whiting. The were donated by Edna Whiting, the daughter in law of Alfred Whiting, one of Annie's sons.

The accession register and inscription on the photograph identify this as Douglas Road (later renamed in part Canada Way). - Photograph of the exterior of the Love farmhouse taken at the corner of Fourteenth Avenue and Cumberland Street. The house is hidden behind large trees at it's orignal address of 7651 Cumberland Street (Address pre 1960: 1390 Cumberland Road). This photograph was taken while Elsie Hughes (nee Love), her husband John Hughes and son Brent Hughes lived in the house. Elsie is the daughter of Sarah (nee Love) and William Parker. Sarah and William purchased the house in 1928, shortly after the death of Sarah's father, Jesse Love. Sarah and William Parker lived in the house with their three children, Albert, Bill and Elsie. William Parker died in 1961 and Sarah continued to live in the house until 1966 before selling it to her daughter Elsie and son in law John Hughes. Elsie and John lived in the house with their son Brent until 1971.
