Description: Red and yellow felt pennant. The narrow end of the pennant has two points. The name "Kensington" is outlined in red colouring. There are two red strips used to to attach the pennant. A homemade ribbon is sewn to the pennant with similar red and yellow colours.

Description: Wood shield with the Regimental insignia of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. "Presented to SEAFORTH SCHOOLHOUSE / from SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA / April 10, 1987" engraved on plate at top of plaque. "CUIDICH'N RIGH" on ribbon at base of insignia. 'SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA", on ribbon at bottom of plaque.

Object History: The plaque was presented to Burnaby Village Museum in April 1987 to commemorate the opening of Seaforth School as a museum exhibit. Seaforth School was originally built in the Lozells neighbourhood in North Burnaby in 1922, on Government Road at Piper Avenue. In 1983, the school was moved to its current site on the grounds of the Burnaby Village Museum and it remains a protected heritage building in Burnaby.

Description: Two original pressed poppy flowers in frame; Handwritten inscription in black ink reads: "Poppies from Battlefield of Givenchy. Gathered in 1916. Presented by Mr. Randle Taylor, 102 C.E.F." Two poppies are mounted on beige coloured paper beneath a piece of glass, within a wooden frame, painted black.

Object History: The poppies were gathered on the battlefield of Givenchy in 1916 and presented by Mr. Randle Taylor, 102nd Battalion C.E.F. Randle Taylor (1881-1963) was a Canadian citizen and resident of Vancouver. Randle Taylor volunteered for service on February 15, 1916. The Battle of Givenchy took place between December 18 and December 22 in 1914. The 102nd Battalion CEF was authorized on December 22, 1915, originating from Northern British Columbia. The Battalion embarked for Britain on June 18, 1916 and disembarked in France on August 12, 1916 where it fought as part of the 11th infantry Brigade, 4th Canadian Division in France and Flanders until the end of the war. Red field or corn poppies grew wild in clusters on and around the battle zones in the regions around Belgium and France. In May 1915, these vibrant red flowers caught the attention of a Canadian soldier by the name of Major John McCrae and inspired his poem "In Flanders Fields". During and after the war the poppy and its connection with the memory of those who died in that war was expanded to help the military and civilian survivors of that war.

These events were organized by the Burnaby Centennial '71 Committee as part of the B.C. Centennial festivities.

Description: report card; Front and back view of the school report card for Elsie Impett. Front page shows "Register No. _____. / Nelson Ave. (handwritten) / Public School / Province of British Columbia / Pupil's Monthly Record Card." Back page shows "Parent's Signatures" and A. Impett has signed it three times. Inside view of the school report card for Elsie Impett issued by Nelson Ave. Public School on June 30, 1915. She is listed as a "senior". Report card lists the months of January to June with columns for No. of Sessions, Times Late, General Conduct, Special Demerits, Reading, Writing, Arithmetic & Bookkeeping, Drawing, Composition, Nature Studies, Geography, British & Canadian History, Algebra, English Grammer, Literature and Spelling. Teacher J.G. Whiten has handwritten Elsie's grades and wrote a comment "Elsie has done excellent work.".

Object History: Elsie Impett (later MacDonald) was born in 1902 in England. Her family setted at Fenwick Avenue, Burnaby. She worked as a clerk and married James MacDonald in 1923 in New Westminster.

Object History: Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at a coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey in London on June 2nd, 1953.

Marks/Labels: "CORONATION JUNE 2ND 1953" and below this is "ELIZABETH II" at top of handle. Stamped on back, "RUSTLESS NICKEL SILVER" "SHEFFIELD ENGLAND"; in circle at right, "MB LTD.".
