The scrapbook documents events and ceremonies of the 4th Guide Company with the first half of the scrapbook containing photographs and documents regarding the 50th Anniversary of Girl Guides which was celebrated at St. Nicholas Church in 1960 while the second half documents earlier events from 1926, as well as other events in the 1960s such as; "Year of the Golden Jubilee", a parade in North Burnaby as well as Thinking Day 1976-1978, banquets, a disco contest, camping on Hollyburn mountain and a visit to Victoria in 1979. On November 3rd, 1926 the company was registered as the 5th Burnaby Guide company, in 1951 the number was changed to the 4th Vancouver Guide Company and in 1956 the number was changed to the 4th Burnaby Company.

The title page "51st Burnaby Pack / C.W.L. / 1967 - 1975" of the scrapbook includes a pen and coloured pencil illustration with an owl on a toadstool surrounded by sprites, elves and fairies. Special events are documented with photographs, newspaper clippings, newsletters, collages, illustrations and a variety of ephemera pertaining to: Enrolment Ceremonies; various donations of handicrafts; service projects; Dedication Ceremonies of the International Peace Arch; camping; Brownie and Guide Revels at James Cowan Centre, Burnaby and Queen's Park, New Westminster; Jubilee Poetry Contest for Eastburn District; Ceremony for Mrs. Clysdale; Baden Powell Day; and winning Cookie sale posters. The 51st Brownie Pack was opened on September 23, 1967 with one Brownie and 18 tweenies. Mrs. Jeanne Schneider was acting Tawny Owl and Mrs. Terry Parkin acting Brown Owl. The 51st Brownie Pack was part of the Eastburn District, Imperial Division and regular meetings were held at Our Lady of Mercy School auditorium.

In 1913 Amy Leigh moved to Burnaby from England and enquired about a Guiding company in her area and was disappointed to find none. In 1914 at the age of 17 years, Amy registered the 1st Burnaby Company and became the captain. By 1924, Burnaby had four Guide companies, four Brownie Packs and a Ranger Company. In this year, Amy was chosen as the official Guider representative from British Columbia to the World Camp at Foxlease, Hampshire, England. From 1926 to 1928 Amy was District Commissioner for Burnaby. In 1931, Amy organized and became the first District Commissioner for North Burnaby.

Paulene Hall was Burnaby Royal Area's 5th Area Commissioner from 1989 -1992 and began her Guiding life as a young member in Prince George earning her Gold Cord (at this time, she was the youngest recipient in Canada at 14 years of age). Paulene Hall began her adult life in Guiding in Burnaby in 1976 as a Brown Owl in the 18th Burnaby Pack in Hycrest District and continued her involvement in the Burnaby Royal Area holding positions on various committees and councils including being a Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner at District, Division and Area Levels. She also served on several Provincial and National committees, was president of the Burnaby North Trefoil Guild and received a Life Membership from Burnaby Royal Area in 1998.

Subject matter within this file is about Phyllis Munday. In 1924 Phyllis with her colleague Annette Buck became the first women to reach the summit of Mount Robson. During her lifetime she scaled over 100 peaks many of which were in B.C.'s remote Coast Mountains. At Guiders' conferences Phyllis inspired many young Guiders with her stories about her life and Guiding experiences. Munday was granted the Order of Canada in 1973 for her pioneering efforts and for her dedicated service to the Girl Guides, St. John Ambulance and the Alpine Club of Canada. A stamp was created in her honour in 1998.

Albertson and D. Fowler. A collection of written material provides historical background regarding the two storey cabin on Hollyburn Mountain. The cabin was purchased by Burnaby Girl Guides in 1964 and appropriately named Burnaby Chalet. A Chalet Committee was formed with representatives from each Division appointing a Chalet Manageress to handle reservations. This typical ski cabin can accomodate up to 40 people. The file also includes a "Campsite Log Book" for the Hollyburn Chalet with handwritten notes from 1981 and 1982, an embroidered triangular shaped badge "Burnaby Royal / Girl Guides / Hollyburn Chalet" and a dedication ceremony program for "Burnaby Guide Camp / June 8, 1958" (Wilson Creek).

- File consists of a scrapbook that was created by Eleanor Galbraith containing newspaper clippings, photographs and memorabilia pertaining to guiding in Burnaby between 1953 and 1967. The scrapbook includes a photograph of the BC Council of Girl Guides at a banquet in West Vancouver community centre, a series of photographs entitled "Practical Weekend for Camper's License / Camp Olave / May 25 - 26, 1963"; a colour program for B.C. Commissioner Training in Kelowna 1965 and group portraits of Girl Guides and leaders ca. 1960. Eleanor Galbraith joined Canadian Girl Guides in 1952 in New Brunswick. She moved to BC and Burnaby Heights in 1954 where she became lieutenant in a local Guide Company. Through the years until 1985 she served as a Guide Captain, District Guider, District Commissioner and finally Division Commissioner of Burnaby Heights Division. She was a founding member of the Burnaby North Trefoil Guild and was awarded her 50 Years of Service award in 2005.

There is a wreath hanging from the top of the fountain, which bears the inscription, "OF OUR FELLOW WORKERS WHO FELL IN THE WAR/ 1914-1918/ ERECTED BY/ THE CIVIC EMPLOYEES UNION - BURNABY - 1923" The War Memorial Fountain is now located in the Burnaby Village Museum site.

There are 43 black pages with newspaper clippings, photographs and other paper documents mounted inside. Dates range from 1964 (Golden Jubilee for Burnaby Guides) to the end of 1967. The first page includes a handwritten notecard and envelope from Lady Olave Baden-Powell to the Burnaby Girl Guides. The letter was addressed to Pixie McGeachie and reads : "Hello Burnaby Girls! / I did appreciate / your kind thoughts / for me at the time of / your Golden Jubilee / Congratulations to you all." Four black white photographs contained within album are from the Burnaby Guides Golden Jubilee and are identified as Girl Guide leaders: Mrs. T. Schootman, Mrs. H.L Puppyn, Mrs. V. Hill, Mrs. J.W. Roper, Mrs. J. Park, Miss E. Feritan, Mrs. A.E. Peel, Mrs. Albertson, Mrs. P. Pringle, Mrs. Underhill and Mrs. N.M Jacobsen. Scrapbook also contains an Examiner newspaper clipping titled: "Sea Ranger Kathy Hardy Presented with Gold Cord" with photograph of Sea Ranger Kathy Hardy; dated Oct. 21/64 and a newspaper clipping titled: "Girls Win Music Scholarships" with photograph including Girl Guide Virginia Blake; ca. March/April 1965.

- File consists of a series of eighty nine slides that were used for a Heritage Village educational presentation titled "The History Guard". The slides are copies of historic images of Burnaby that were accompanied by a narrative sound recording. In the recording, narrator "John Stable" pontificates about his role as the guard for history at Burnaby Village and shares historical information about Burnaby, heritage buildings, the Interurban tram, roads, transporation and how Burnaby transformed over time. Images include views of Heritage Village buildings and exhibits, Ceperley house, the Gilley Brothers logging, the Interurban tram, historic maps, roads, street scenes and the BC Tel building.

- File consists of a collection of photographs which were taken between April 8 and May 20, 1988 by Jim Wolf to document the Love farmhouse from it's original location at 7651 Cumberland Street (the corner of 14th Avenue and Cumberland Street) and the move to the Burnaby Village Museum site. The purpose of this documentary collection was to help capture the original character of the house and record any evident changes over time as modern renovations were discovered along with any changes that were made in order to move the house from it's original site to the museum. Jim Wolf created a "Love House Photo Index" including descriptions for most of the photographs that he created. Film "Rolls A-E" were taken of the house once it was saved and acquired by the Burnaby Village Museum. Film "Rolls F & G" were taken prior to this event and were meant to provide evidence for preserving the house and create a permanent record of an historic building - with the imminent threat of its destruction. Interior shots of the upstairs of the house were recorded on film roll "D" according to another alphabetic system that was used to record each "artifact" ie: fixtures, walls, moulding etc. since there was a good possibility that the mid-section of the second floor would be severed and/or damaged once the kitchen was removed in order to transport the house. Film "roll E" and several other rolls have an emphasis on the kitchen because of the threat of its individual destruction given budgetary, spatial and other constraints.
