The house was purchased by Jack and Sarah Waplington in 1925. Jack and Sarah raised there three children (Frances, John and Grace) in the house until they retired to Lasqueti Island in 1946. They sold the house to their eldest daughter, Frances and son in law Ray Fleming who lived in the home until 1958. The house and property was sold to the Municipality of Burnaby in 1959.
