- Two Plays - ticket -- [1988]. Ticket for event presented by Deol Agricultural Society and Vancouver Sath for two plays: "Picket Line" and Crop of Poison" performed on Sunday, April 10, [1988] at the Abbey Arts Centre in Abbotsford.
- The ticket is printed in English on yellow paper and is marked "122" in black felt pen.
- Object History
- These items are ephemera collected by the donor during the active years of the Vancouver Sath organization. Most of the meetings and rehearsals were held in Burnaby, and most of the performances were held in Vancouver. The group was passionate about tackling difficult issues within the community and giving a space for these issues to be raised. The hope was the conversations would begin and go somewhere within families and the community. They covered issues of gender inequality, martial violence, wage discrepancy in work, union support, and racism.
- Vancouver Sath recognized that theatre was a more effective medium to reaching their audience than paper newsletters and publications was at the time. They were connected to the Canadian Farmworkers Union (CFU), and other location organzations for support, and due to many shared members. Often the CFU would apply for grants, and fund the cost of venue rental, set and prop procurement, and offering a modest honourarium to actors.

- Salvation Army Guide uniform dress belonging to Virginia Blake, early 1960s. From the 6th Vancouver Salvation Army Guides on Hastings Street. Salvation Army was affiliated with Girl Guides (1937) of Canada until 1998. Worn with brown leather belt, beret, folded triangular company tie. The three white stripes on the right breast pocket indicate that wearer was a company leader. The more stripes you had, the higher your rank. A single white stripe, sewn down the center of the pocket, would have indicated that she was a patrol seconder. Two stripes would indicate that she was a patrol leader. White adhesive tape was used so that the guider didn’t have to unstitch and re-sew the stripes as they gained rank.

- Girl guide scarf belonged to Dorothy Pitman who was a Girl Guide in the 1st Burnaby Company. She was known to be involved with guiding from 1919 to 1931. Textual records and photographs of the Pitman family, including one of Dorothy and her sister Gwen, are held by the City of Burnaby Archives. Dorothy and Gwen's parents, Ernest and Jean Pitman, owned McKay Dry Goods and Jubilee Dry Goods.

The tile has a clean diagonal split across the centre right near to where the ribbon attaches to the gold curl. The bottom corner is missing with another clean diagonal split, and small triangular piece missing along the largest split.

- White ceramic tile with gold design. The design is made up of a gold line down the centre with a leaf comprising the top half. Two gold curls emerge from either side of the line. Six bell-shaped flowers hang from these gold curls on each side and are tied with a ribbon. There is a large brown stain on the top right corner with two rough chips out of the bottom. This tile is split into nearly 4 equal parts.

- An chrome steel anvil style tile cutter with a mitre stop to allow cutting up to 45 degrees. It has orange plastic sleeves over the metal handles and a locking mechanism. Markings on one side: "ORIGINAL/LOWE" as well as a lion walking on a toothed gear within a circle. Markings on the other side: "MADE IN GERMANY". The guide on both sides of the cutter are imbedded with markings for angle cuts. The number "2" is also present.

Daniel "Dan" Yanko was born in Kobilnicha, Ukraine in 1887 and immigrated to Canada in May or June of 1905. Daniel Yanko married Annie D. Basiuk and had thirteen children together. Their son, John Ivan Yanko was born on the family farm, near Kelliher, Saskatchewan, on June 27, 1923. In grade six, John was pulled out of school to help support the family. Eugenia “Jenny” Haresomovych (later Carman) was born August 8, 1904 in Galecia, Austria. She came to Canada in 1928, when her parents sent her to live with the Austrian consular in Halifax. A year later, she was in The Pas with Albert Edward Carman, with whom she would have three children. Their daughter, Leida Doria "Lillian Doris" Carman was born in The Pas, Manitoba March 24, 1929. Lillian began working at the downtown Woodward’s store as a cashier in 1948. In 1950, the young couple bought property at 7385 (later renumbered 7391) Broadway in Burnaby and began constructing a house as they could afford it. Knowing she’d be let go if she was pregnant, when Lillian was expecting her first child, Jenny sewed her several versions of the same outfit; they all used the same material, but each was a little bit larger than the last to accommodate her expanding girth. In traditional Chinese medicine, Rhizoma Wenyujin Concisum is used to break blood and promote the circulation of qi, stimulate the menstrual flow and alleviate pain. Symptoms include amenorrhea due to stagnation of blood, traumatic injury, rheumatic arthritis, dysmenorrheal, pain of arms and shoulders, chest pain.

- Orange paper rectangular label with 3 Chinese characters in black. Slight damage at the bottom and some discolouration. Chinese characters literally translate to: "nine" and " " and "bright". Translation adjusted for English reads: "Climbing Groundsel Herb / Herb of Climbing Groundsel". Uses: Climbing Groundsel Herb is from the plant Herba Senecionis Scandentis. Taste: Bitter, pungent, cool, slightly toxic. For liver and kidney meridians. Mainly to clear heat and remove toxicity, kill parasites and improve vision. To cure: Sores and boils, bacillary dysentery, diarrhea, eczema, nebula, jaundice, tinea, erysipelas, trichomonas vaginitis, scald, typhoid fever, acute conjunctivitis, influenza, enteritis, tonsillitis, lobar pneumonia, toxaemia.
