Object History
The Ranger Star was available be subscription and was published quarterly in West Burnaby B.C. Editor of quarterly was Joy Mennie and Associate editor, Bessie Carter. This volume belonged to Dorothy Pitman who was a Girl Guide in the 1st Burnaby Company. She was known to be involved with guiding from 1919 to 1931. Textual records and photographs of the Pitman family, including one of Dorothy and her sister Gwen, are held by the City of Burnaby Archives. Dorothy and Gwen's parents, Ernest and Jean Pitman, owned McKay Dry Goods and Jubilee Dry Goods.

Description
This programme is a blue 8.5 x 11 folded sheet with black print. The front page shares the details of the play called "The Hidden Guest" presented by The Unity Club and performed by the Edmonds Baptist Young People's Union. It took place at the Edmonds Public Hall on Friday April 26, 1929 at 8:15pm. The Edmonds BYPU Orchestra is listed on the front also. The second and fourth pages are non-illustrated advertisements for local businesses. Page three lists the cast character name and given name, in order of appearance.

Description
Short Cuts to Home Sewing - Booklet -- [1930]. Booklet produced by the Singer Sewing Machine Company Incorporated on Short Cuts to Home Sewing: The Modern Singer Way. The booklet is from the Singer Sewing Library - No. 1. The front cover of the booklet has an illustration of two women, one sitting in front of the Singer Sewing Machine, the other standing above looking at the machine. Handwritten on the front cover is "F.A. Gray". On the back cover is an illustration of the globe with a large red "S" in the middle. Written across the globe is "The Sign of Singer Service Throughout the World". The booklet was copyrighted in 1930 and printed in Canada. The booklet measures 14cm x 21cm.

Object History
Menu belonged to Hilda Higham Page who was a member of the Burnaby Cougars lacrosse team in the 1930s. The Burnaby Cougars women's lacrosse team was formed in 1930. The Burnay Cougars home field was located in Central Park and practices took place at Kingsway West School, Burnaby. Les Greenwood was the Cougars' first coach followed by Chief Andy Paul and Bill Bayley. Bill Fowler was manager of the team. The Burnaby Cougars won the championship in 1934. In 1937 the Burnaby Cougars re-organized as the New Westminster Cougars and fielded a team in B.C. Senior Women's Lacrosse League.
