- The Farrand Rapid Rule - Advertisement -- [192-]. Advertisement for the Farrand Rapid Rule from the Hiram A. Farrand Inc. in Berlin. The ruler being advertised is made from steel and is said to bend easily and measure curves. Along both sides of the page are four illustrations of the different uses of the ruler. The advert provides a six inch ruler as an example of its flexibility. The sample ruler was made in the USA and patented in Canada in 1928. The advertisement measures 28cm x 25.5cm.

- Notice - Plaque. Wood backed plaque with cardboard notice from the British Columbia Electric Railway Company advising passengers to stand in a position that does not interfere with the Operator's vision while the vehicle was in motion. The notice also requests that the passengers refrain from unnecessary conversation with the Operator while the vehicle is in motion. The notice is attached to the wood with four tacks. The wood backing is 23.5cm x 18.5cm and the cardboard is 20cm x 15cm.

- Anaconda Brass Pipe - Advertisement Ink Blotter. Advertisment card for Anaconda Brass Pipe and P.D. Pugh on 16 W. 4 Ave, Vancouver B.C. The front of the card has photograph of a woman and child with a man in a bathroom looking at pipes. There is a caption at the top of the card "Avoid This with Water Pipes of Rustless Brass". The card provides a product description below the caption. The reverse side of the card has blue construction paper which has been used as an ink blotter. The card was printed in Canada and measures 15cm x 8.5cm.

- Hamilton's All-cream Ice Cream - Advertising card. Price list advertising Hamilton's All-cream Ice Cream. Products vary from Vanilla ice cream to Sundaes, Fancy Sundaes and Ice Cream Sodas. McLaughlin's Soda's are also advertised at the bottom. On the back of the card it states "Ice Cream sold here is absolutely pure, nothing being added to the cream except sugar, flavoring or fruits". There is handwriting on the back of the card in ink. The card measures 7.5cm x 13cm.

- Object History
- Dragon Inn belonged to the Lee family. The Dragon Inn restaurant was located at at 4510 Kingsway, on the corner of Kingsway and Willingdon Avenue (opened in the 1970s) and later at Hastings Street near Willingdon (opened in the 1990s). The Dragon Inn was known for its exterior neon sign which was removed in 1997.

- Pin, round, enamelled metal, suspended from enamelled bar. Upper part of bar is blue, lower part red, all bordered with brass. Large brass "1914". Loop attached to bar at bottom of centre back. Single link attaches loop at top of pendant to loop of bar. Pendant part of pin is octagonal, with coloured square Union Flag at centre, no white. Flag is centred over white 7-pointed star on blue ground whose points are tipped with gold balls which extend beyond the outer border. White border around edge of pendant has gold print "IMPERIAL ORDER DAUGHTERS OF THE EMPIRE", edges, and buckle ? at bottom. Four of star's points go over border, three under. Crown at top of pendant is red and blue with gold border and details. Back of pin is brass. Locking pin back on bar has pivoting lock. Wire across lower part of bar has back of loop for link attached. Back of pendant is lighter than bar, has stamped "RYPIE / REGD 1916". Metal has scratches, corrosion. Metal of bar is discoloured. Enamel is worn.
- Object History
- This pin's bar commemorates the work of the wearer during World War I. The Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (I.O.D.E.) is a woman's charitable organization based in Canada. The first chapter "Federation of the Daughters of the Empire" was formed in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1900 and the Federation was incorporated as "Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire and and Children of the Junior Branch" in 1901. The IODE was incorporated as Canadian women's organization by a special act of parliament of Canada in 1917. The IODE actively promoted military training in schools.
