- A Childhood Safety Calendar from Helen's Children's Wear from 1966. The front page of the calendar has a airbrushed image of a small girl smiling with blue eyes. She has a headband with silver pom-poms. She is holding a doll with a red hat and braids. The first two pages of the calendar are entitled "Children's Safety Diary. Each month of the calendar has a different image of a child. The back page has a reading entitled "Safety: Your Child's Most Important Lesson!"

- Helen's Children's Wear was a popular and well known shop in Burnaby
- Helen's Children's Wear was located at 4142 Hastings Street. Owner Helen Arnold opened the store on East Hastings Street in 1948. She moved to the 4142 Hastings Street location in 1955, and added a landmark neon sign to the building in 1956. The sign featured a girl on a swing, and served as an important landmark in the neighbourhood. The store closed in 2007.

- Calendar card for July 1925. It features an image of a mountain and a lake with a small white steamer in the foreground. The calendar advertises the Commercial Drive Garage Limited, in Vancouver. The card is copyright 1923 by Louis F. Dow Company of St. Paul, USA. It does say finished in Canada. The card is printed on blue stock, very faded on front face. Markings: GOING -TO-THE-SUN MOUNTAIN Regardless of when or where a car was bought or how much it cost it deserves understanding care at regular intervals. The card is copyright 1923 by Louis F. Dow Company of St. Paul, USA. It does say finished in Canada. The card is printed on blue stock, very faded on front face. - retail display cabinet or dispensing cabinet; wood slat construction (1/4 in. or 063 cm) with paper product labeling over top. Paper product labelling is in colour. Six drawers with small metal pull-rings. Original labeling appears to be for "Bauer & Black" brands of plasters and dressings, but other labels have been placed over the orginal markings in some places.

- Description
- Portable audio tape recorder with a time code generator attached underneath the recorder. The tape recorder is a "NAGRA IV - S" model with serical number "0604219", marked as made by "NAGRA KUDELSKI Made in Switzerland 1033 Chessaux Switzerland". Originally intended for use with 5 inch spools, this machine has been adapted to accomodate 7 inch spools. The clear plastic lid is moulded to allow 7 inch spools and wings have been added to the sides to support the larger spools. Toogle switches are recessed and setting switches are flat and notched both to prevent accidental changes while recording. There is no power pack with the machine. There is a battery compartment for 12, "D" size batteries located on the underside of the machine.. The tape machine has a sticker at the centre top reading: "AUDIO CINE SERVICES Inc. [address line struck out] 416-461-5015 FEB 9/99 468 71/2 99068" This may indicate the company and date of the addaptation to the larger spools The attached time code reader is marked "Tape Recorder Module TC 200A" "COHERENT COMMUNICATIONS INC." There are two male, seven pin DIN connectors extending from each side of the time code reader on short 4 to 5 inch blue cables. There are two female RG59 BNC connectors on the back of the module and a female 15 pin digial cable socket. There is a socket for plugging in a time code reader.
- Object History
- This machine was used by the donor to record sound on TV and movie location shoots in Burnaby and the Lower Mainland. The Nagra IV was preceeded by the Nagra III, which revolutionized the recording of sound for film in the early 1960's. The IV was introduced in 1971 and used until the 1990's.
