Construction on the ship started last year, to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the first Viking sailors arrival in North America. Marion Toft, the president of the Norwegian House Society, says the project, which is being guided by two master shipbuilders, is a tribute to the skills of Norse shipbuilders. She says the ship should be ready for launch by early summer."
