- The Pollution Committee was established on April 8, 1969. The Committee reported on matters such as landfill operations, municipal sewage, and individual property concerns. The Committee was renamed the Pollution, Refineries Safety and Security Committee in 1981, then renamed the Pollution Committee again in 1982 The Pollution Committee became the Environment & Waste Management Committee on December 7, 1987.
