- Wedding dress bodice and skirt, 1888. White lace. Bodice has three quarter length sleeves with ruffled cuff, round neck line, scalloped hem. Skirt is missing.
- Object History
- Dress was worn by Rachel Mills when she married George Davies in Winnipeg in September,1888. The couple soon moved west, renting a home in New Westminster for a short period before moving to a home at 6th Street and 3rd Avenue (now 12th Avenue) in Burnaby. For a short time they lived at a home that had previously belonged to George's brother, Richard, before moving to their own home next door on Lot 11. George and Rachel Davies raised four children in their home, two boys and two girls. Daughter Lillian May Davies wore the dress when she was a bridesmaid for Elizabeth Lewis when she married Henry Love circa 1907.

- Whitechurch Hardware - Receipt -- [1968]. Handbill for Whitechurch Hardware Store at 7665 6th Street in Burnaby. The receipt was for January 11th, 1968. The total owing was $4.71 and it was paid in cash. The receipt was number 30 within the series.
- Object History
- William and Flora Bell built this dry goods store on Sixth Street in East Burnaby circa 1918. This street was a small commercial district that served residents located along the streetcar line between New Westminster and Edmonds. This store also served as the location of East Burnaby Post Office, one of many subpost offices located throughout the municipality during its early days. This building remains as one of South Burnaby's few surviving early commercial buildings and features a "false front" and recessed main entrance. The building was later sold to Maurice and Mildred Whitechurch, who ran it for many years as a hardware store named Whitechurch Hardware Store. In 1974 the building was moved to the Burnaby Village Museum.

- Family First Aid - Instructional Wheel. Two cardboard disks which rotate to reveal various first aid instruction for various ailments from Sun Stroke, Cuts, Burns and Gun Shots. The smaller inside disk is red with "FAMILY FIRST AID" written across the top. The instructional wheel was distributed by McKay Drugs at 4038 Kingsway, New Westminster. Although the wheel states that the pharmacy was in New Westminster, the address is actually in Burnaby. Wm. W. Saxton was the Pharmacist at the time of distribution. The wheel measures 15.5cm across.

The back side of the ticket states the different zones for Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North Vancouver Settlers, North Vancouver-Cloverleaf, New Westminster and Fraser Mills. - Victorian Order of Nurses (V.O.N.) seal is the tabletop stamping type which imprints the words "VICTORIAN ORDER OF NURSES" and "BURNABY BRANCH"; official; stamper is black metal, lever at top; "MADE IN CANADA" at side of base; seal disc is brass; label at front transcribes the words on the seal.
- Object History
- The Victorian Order of Nurses for Canada is a non-profit charitable organization created for the purposes of home care and social services established in 1898 to perpetuate the memory of Victoria the Good. The Burnaby Branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) was established in 1912 with Miss Colhoun as its first nurse. Florence Hart was born in 1898 in New Westminster, and moved to Burnaby when she was 13. Her family lived in what is now known as Hart House. Both Florence and her husband Harold Godwin were awarded life memberships from the VON (Victorian Order of Nurses) for more than half a century of service. - Third Year Course Household Science Examination - Certificate and Envelope -- [1925]. Third Year Course Household Science Examination Certificate for Nina Christina Atkinson, No. 1396. The examination was held in June 1925. Nina was tested in Composition, Literature, History, Algebra and Arithmetic, Chemistry, Physiology and Hygiene, Dietetics, French Translation, French Grammar, Cookery, Dressmaking and Millinery, and finally Drawing and Design. In red at the top of the certificate is the Coat of Arms for British Columbia and written below is "The Government of the Province of British Columbia. On the reverse side is information on supplement examinations. The certificate measures 18cm x 22cm. The envelope is brown paper addressed to Nina C. Atkinson, at 215-13th Ave., New Westminster, B.C.. The envelope has an orange King George V stamp on the top right corner and "Department of Education/ Victoria, B.C." written on the top left corner. The envelope has a butterfly enclosure and measures 19cm x 27cm.

- Grade Eleven Examination - Certificate and Envelope -- [1925]. Grade Eleven Examination for Junior Matriculation Normal Entrance for Nina Christina Atkinson, No. 1396. The exam was taken in September of 1925. The only subject that Nina wrote on was History. In red at the top of the certificate is the Coat of Arms for the Province of British Columbia. Below the coat of arms is "The Government of the Province of British Columbia". On the reverse side of the certificate is information on supplemental examinations. The certificate measures 18.5cm x 22.5cm. The envelope is brown paper and was addressed to Miss Nina Christina Atkinson, 215 - 13th Ave., New Westminster, B.C.. The envelope was from the Department of Education in Victoria, B.C. and has an orange King George V stamp on the top right corner. The envelope has a butterfly enclosure and measures 19cm x 27cm.
