- Two original pressed poppy flowers in frame; Handwritten inscription in black ink reads: "Poppies from Battlefield of Givenchy. Gathered in 1916. Presented by Mr. Randle Taylor, 102 C.E.F." Two poppies are mounted on beige coloured paper beneath a piece of glass, within a wooden frame, painted black.
- Object History
- The poppies were gathered on the battlefield of Givenchy in 1916 and presented by Mr. Randle Taylor, 102nd Battalion C.E.F. Randle Taylor (1881-1963) was a Canadian citizen and resident of Vancouver. Randle Taylor volunteered for service on February 15, 1916. The Battle of Givenchy took place between December 18 and December 22 in 1914. The 102nd Battalion CEF was authorized on December 22, 1915, originating from Northern British Columbia. The Battalion embarked for Britain on June 18, 1916 and disembarked in France on August 12, 1916 where it fought as part of the 11th infantry Brigade, 4th Canadian Division in France and Flanders until the end of the war. Red field or corn poppies grew wild in clusters on and around the battle zones in the regions around Belgium and France. In May 1915, these vibrant red flowers caught the attention of a Canadian soldier by the name of Major John McCrae and inspired his poem "In Flanders Fields". During and after the war the poppy and its connection with the memory of those who died in that war was expanded to help the military and civilian survivors of that war.

- Medal ribbon bar with 6 medals. Medals from left to right:
- Distinguished Flying Cross: Silver cross, the vertical arms of the cross has the image of airplane propellers. The horizontal arms of the cross have wings. In the centre of the cross is a circle with a crown on top and "RAF" in the centre. The reverse has the Royal Cypher in the centre "GVI" and 1918. Engraved at the bottom of the cross is 1945. The ribbon is white and purple stripes on the diagonal.
- 1939-1945 Star: Six pointed star, the obverse has a design of the Royal and Imperial cypher below a crown. The cypher is surrounded by the text "The 1939 - 1945 Star". The ribbon consists of three equal stripes of light blue, red, and dark blue
- France and Germany Star: Six pointed star, the obverse has a design of the Royal and Imperial cypher below a crown. The cypher is surrounded by the text "The France and Germany Star". The ribbon consists of stripes of blue, white, red, white, and blue.
- Defence Medal: Circular silver medal, the obverse shows the side profile of King George VI, facing left. The text around the profile is "GEORGIVS VI D: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP." The reverse of the medal is a Royal crown above an oak tree, flanked by a lion and a lioness. The top left has the date "1939" and the top right has "1945". The text below is "THE DEFENCE / MEDAL". The ribbon is a light green with a central stripe of orange and a narrow black stripe in the middle of the green.
- Canadian Volunteer Service Medal: Circular silver medal, The obverse shows seven marching figures representing the men and women of the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Nursing service. Around the edge of the medal is the text "1939 CANADA 1945 VOLUNTARY SERVICE VOLONTAIRE". The reverse of the medal shows the Canadian coat of arms. This side is tarnished or scuffed. The ribbon has a stripe of royal blue in the centre flanked by two equal stripes of scarlet and dark green.
- War Medal 1939-1945: Circular silver medal, the obverse shows a crown profile of King George VI, facing left. Text circling the profile is "GEORGIVS VI D : BR : OMN : REX ET INDIAE IMP:". The reverse shows a lion standing on the body of a double headed dragon. The dragon's heads are of an eagle and a dragon. At the top right are the dates "1939/1940". The ribbon has seven stripes of red, blue, and white.
- 100th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada: Circular silver medal, the obverse has Queen Elizabeth II's royal cypher on top of a maple leaf. Surrounding the cypher is "CONFEDERATION CANADA CONFEDERATION". The reverse has the Canadian Coat of Arms with "1867 - 1967" below. The ribbon is white with thin red stripes and two thicker red stripes on the edges.

- Item belonged to Joseph “Joe” Hardcastle Cumberland Corsbie who served as a Navigator for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) between 1942 and 1945. - National Songs of the Allies - Sheet Music/Song Booklet -- [1914]. Booklet of music containing the National Anthems for the allies from World War I. The booklet contains songs for Great Britain, Canada, Australia, India, South Africa, Serbia, Japan, Russia, France and Belgium. The front cover has six flags from the various allies. The songs were translated by J.A.S. and arranged by T Martin. The publication was copyrighted by R.E. Forsyth in 1914. For Canada both "The Maple Leaf Forever" and the French version of "O Canada" is listed. The booklet is staple bound and is 20cm x 27cm.

- Object History
- Drawing book was created by Nellie Gosling, First Blackrock Company, Ireland. The book may have been created to earn a badge. The drawing book was donated with items belonging to Dorothy Pitman, but it is unknown how she acquired it since she doesn't appear to have done the drawings herself. Dorothy Pitman was a Girl Guide in the 1st Burnaby Company. She was known to be involved with guiding from 1919 to 1931. Textual records and photographs of the Pitman family, including one of Dorothy and her sister Gwen, are held by the City of Burnaby Archives. Dorothy and Gwen's parents, Ernest and Jean Pitman, owned McKay Dry Goods and Jubilee Dry Goods.

This is issue Number 2, that focus on "Pour Conserver L'Harmonie Des Lignes", and was written by M. Bourache. The magazine was produced by Méthodes Nilsson - Les Sports Pour La Femme, under the direction of Madame Milliat, the president of the Fédération des Sociétés Feminines Sportives de France. The front cover of the magazine has a woman performing an exercise on the ground. The magazine measures 16.5cm x 25cm

- For his country's sake - Memorial Card -- [1917]. Memorial card for Lieutenant Lawrence Labell Davidson of the 5th Battalion C.E.F. The front of the card has a silver and black border. In the centre is a cross with a wreath below it and two Union Jack flags at half mast on either side with the flag poles crossing at the top of the cross. Below this is "For his country's sake." Inside the card are the same borders. On the left side is the 5th Battalion crest for Western Cavalry. On the right side is information in silver text about Lawrence Davidson. He was wounded at Passchendaele on November 11th 1917 and died in hospital on November 25th in No.14 General Hospital, France at age 21. The bottom of the card says "Regina 1917".

- To My Dear Mother - Postcard. Small postcard with embroidered fabric centre. The British Union Jack and the French Flag are embroidered on the fabric along with small red flowers and green leafs. At the bottom of the fabric is "TO MY DEAR MOTHER". The fabric in the centre of the card is split into two pieces and unfolds to reveal a small card with a blue stamp on it with "To my dear Mother" written again. On the back of the postcard is room for a written message. The card was made in France. The postcard is 8.5cm x 13.5cm.
