Description: Prevent Forest Fires - Leaflet -- [191-?]. Leaflet distributed by the British Columbia Lands Department Forest Service. The front of the leaflet has a quote "England Expects Every Man to Do His Duty. Do Yours: Prevent Forest Fires." Above the quote is a cluster of pine branches and cones that have been tinted with colour. The leaflet includes information on forest fire prevention and why BC forests are vital to the empire. There is also a brief history of the Union Jack and instructions on how to make the flag and hoist the flag. On the centre page is a fold out picture of the Union Jack.

Object History: Came in with Oakalla Prison records and artifacts in 1991. Filmstrip was utilized by staff and inmates of Oakalla. Digitized by BVM into preservation and accessible formats in 2020.

Notes: Filmstrip (illustrations with subtitles) provides a brief synopsis on the science behind the conduction of fire, fire prevention and fire extinguishment including classification under three headings: "Class "A" Fires"; "Class "B" Fires" and "Class "C" Fires". Accompanying sound recording is missing.
