Item consists of a handwritten air mail letter from Sergeant Colin Rhodes Fox of the Royal Canadian Artillery Service to his aunt Marianne "May" Bateman while serving overseas during World War II. Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment with the 44th and 78th Canadian Field Battery. Colin writes his letter from Germany; wishes that he could have been a part of VE day celebrations in Vancouver; tells of how they haven't fired a shot since May 4th and did their celebrating then; how he's been working getting equipment and vehicles cleaned up; how he learned through broadcasts about celebrations in England and he plans on taking his next leave there; he expects that they will tour around Germany until he's released to return home.

Item consists of a handwritten air mail letter from Sergeant Colin Rhodes Fox of the Royal Canadian Artillery Service to his aunt Marianne "May" Bateman while serving overseas during World War II. Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment with the 44th and 78th Canadian Field Battery. In his letter, Colin tells of how he may not returnn home until October and explains the process by which they're being released; he tells that he was in hospital due to injuries to his feet which were exasperated after attending a dance and how he learned of his father's recent accident.

Item consists of an air mail letter written by Sergeant Colin Rhodes Fox of the Royal Canadian Artillery Service to his aunt Marianne "May" Bateman while serving overseas during World War II. Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment, 44th Canadian Field Battery. In his letter, Colin reflects on Christmas dinner and how he celebrated New Years Eve. He also tells of how they put on a party for two hundred and fifty kids in town. The men in service made a bunch of toys and saved candy and chocolate bars from their parcels to gift to the children and one of them handed them out while dressed as Santa Clause. He tells of how he's going on leave again this month and thanks his aunt for gifts that she sent.

Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment, 44th Canadian Field Battery. Colin is writing from hospital after being wounded while laying communication cable from the Normandy beachhead on June 8, 1944 (two days after D-Day). Colin tells of how he's received many letters since being in hospital; of how he is healing from his wounds and how he and other wounded soldiers listen to radio shows while convalescing.

Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment, 44th Canadian Field Battery. Colin is writing from hospital after being wounded while laying communication cable on the Normandy beachhead on June 8, 1944 (two days after D-Day). Colin thanks May for her letters; tells of how he's been convalescing in bed for twenty days with damage to one of his lungs and how he and others in the ward have been listening to radio shows on a Red Cross radio.

Don Copan was an active member of the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee and later became the founding President of the Century Park Museum Association. While a member of the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee, Don created a scrapbook album of photographs and ephemera documenting the Burnaby Centennial ’71 Committee’s involvement in celebrating British Columbia’s Centenary of Confederation between January and December 1971 including Burnaby’s Commemorative Project – Heritage Village (Burnaby Village Museum).
