Andrew Johnson built the house around 1911, then occupied the residence until his death in 1934. His wife sold the property in 1943, after which, the place operated as a funeral home until 1980 or 1981. The building was then purchased by Wales McLelland development company, then went through a series of restaurant owners' hands.

Scope and Content: Photograph of a woman believed to be Flora Bell in a two piece polka dot dress on the front steps of the Bell family house located on Thirteenth Avenue. Flora Bell and her husband William were the proprietors of the Bell Dry Goods store which operated between 1924 and 1941 at the northwest corner of Sixth Street and Thirteenth Avenue (1314 Sixth Street). The couple moved to this house in about 1927 while they converted the back of the store to include a Post Office. In 1938, the couple moved from this house into an apartment above a new store building that they built on the corner next to their old one storey building which now operated as Whitechurch Hardware.The Bells were members of the East Burnaby Gospel Hall located at Twelfth Avenue and Sixth Street.

Scope and Content: Photograph of the house built about 1894 that Louis Claud Hill called "Brookfield." Mr. Hill was married that year to Annie Sara Kendrick, and they took up residence in the house until 1906 when they sold the property and built a new home in the vicinity of Buckingham and Sperling. Brookfield was still on the property when the Burnaby Village Museum was planned in 1971 as Heritage Village, but it was torn down to make room for other buildings on the site. An acquisition record notes that this house stood immediately behind the Elworth House, and Colonel Peers' (the donor) mother was born in this house in 1898. Annotations on the back of the photo read, "1896 'Brookfield'" and "The residence of Mr.+Mrs. LC Hill, the first residence on the site of Heritage Court. It stood immediately behind what is now called the Manor House. Built about 1894."

Description: The core of the Jessie Love farm house is a 1893 two story, pioneer tent style building. The home was added to over the years and became a large Craftsmen style farm house.

Object History: Built on Cumberland Road in Burnaby in 1893. Music Room/Parlour/Living Room and bedrooms above added c.1898. Kitchen added c.1908. The home of Jesse and Martha Love and their eleven children. One of Burnaby's oldest structures. The home was moved to Burnaby Village Museum in the late 1980s and has been partially restored to its 1920s appearance.

History: George Vincent Martin was born in 1892 in England. He married Matilda Florence Reed in 1916. He purchased a property in North Burnaby in the 1920s on Trinity Street. There was a main house and a "shack" on the property split up onto two lots.
