box, tin, unpainted, with top; pattern of top is red background with gold circles; label is in Chinese characters. Box contains orchid pseudo-bulbs, or Chinese ground orchid (Bletilla Hyacinthina). The bulbs are crushed and mixed with sesame oil, formed into balls, and then sealed inside a wax coating. The product is used to make an emollient for burns.

"Cinobufagin is a cardiotoxic bufanolide steroid secreted by the Asiatic toad Bufo gargarizans. It is toad skin and parotid gland secretions. It has side similar effects to digitalis and is used in traditional Chinese medicine. (Digitalis is used to treat congestive heart failure (CHF) and heart rhythm problems (atrial arrhythmias).) When adjusted for English comprehension, product is "Hexing Saturn Peach brand - Dajianlu, Sichuan cordyceps". This product consists of dried Cordyceps fungus. The fungus is parasitic. Spores from the fungus land on moth caterpillars, which then become infected. The fungus causes the caterpillars to bury themselves in the ground. The buried caterpillars provide nourishment to the fungus as it grows. The mature fungus emerges from the ground surface when weather conditions are right. The fungus is then gathered and dried. It is used to tonify/increase the yang in the kidney, nourish kidney essence, tonify/increase lung qi, half bleeding, reduce phlegm, and relieve cough.
