Description
Clear glass botle with a black plastic cap. The bottle contains an unknown white powder. There is a yellowed label on the front of the bottle with Chinese characters. The reverse side of the label is green with white letters tha read "McGills & ..." "Victoria, BC". There are raised markings on the bottle with markers at 20 and 40. There are embossed markings on the bottom of the bottle also.

Description
A cardboard box of "Dr. William's Pink Pills", with pills still inside. One side of the package is in English and the other in French. The top and bottom of the box are pink, and folded with flaps. The top reads 'Wartime package adopted Jan 1943" and "GT Fulford Limited Brockville Ont. Direction Booklet Inside This End." The fronts and sides of of the rectangular package is black with black and pink text in a white oval shape. The text reads "No. 19327 Proprietary of Patent Medicine Act / Dr. William's Pink Pills / A Tonic for the Blood and Nerves / with Iron and Vitamin B1 / Contents 50 pills." The side oval has text that reads: "Directions: 2 pills 3 times a day after of with meals. See booklet inside for complete directions. Each pill contains 1/200 grain Strychnine, 35 International Units Vitamin B1, 15 milligrams assimilable iron.

A white package with raw ingredients of "Pile-rid Tea" / Sufferers from Piles (hemorrhoids). The cardboard box is covered with a white sleeve. The text is purple and red with a green image on the top and right corner. The box has directions for use and an explanation of what piles are from a medical perspective. The contents of the tea are as follows: pilewort herb, mullein flowers, mullein leaves, red clover tops, calendula flowers, Dal sage, white oak bark, pellitory of the Wall herb, Shepher's purse.

The box has directions for use and an explanation of what what symptoms of irregular and painful menstruation it will remedy. Description
Worn wooden cabinet made from Douglas Fir and cedar. The interior of the cabinet is painted a pale yellow. One third of the cabinet closest to the ground houses a large open shevling area with the back paneling visible. The middle of the cabinet has 5 slots for drawers with metal handles. One drawer is missing. The top third of the cabinet is split into 2 shelves with a yellow board bisecting the top shelf. Chinese characters are painted in black on the back of the shelving unit.
Object History
The cabinet was found in the Thrussell farmhouse on Marine Drive in Burnaby in the 1999.The Thrussell's land had been leased to Chinese tenant farmers by the Thrussell family and also previous owners. The City demolished the house, but they salvaged many items in the house before doing so. Of note are the Chinese characters and the joinery and construction of the cabinet. Chinese characters are painted in black on the back of the shelving unit The first two characters refer to pine wood and the last character is stem or branch.
