- Material Details
- On the lower front border of the photograph, the number "36" is written with a fine, purple felt marker. The back side of the photograph have a lightly, stamped set of numbers "03681" and "10.5.7[3]".
- Scope and Content
- Photograph of a pair of drapes in a doorway inside Way Sang Yuen Wat Kee & Co., 1620 Government Street, Victoria. Drapes have left side tied back to the wall and the right side held up from behind the wall of the doorway. The set of drapes are hung on a pole with rounded, ball-like end caps. It has a valance above it with the left side held back with a drape tie back of the same fabric. The fabric is a light col. material with a striped, horizontal pattern set apart widely. The length of the drapes do not reach the floor rather hangs about a foot off it. A broom or mop is leaning against the right side of the doorway where part of a shelf is located. The wall beside the doorway have wainscotting on the lower half with a middle border separating it from the solid, light col. upper wall. Through the doorway is a room or area that features a line of sifters underneath a shelf of glasses and vases with flowers. The far end of the room apprears to have a corner nook that houses a small stool or table that holds some books or journals on top of it.

- Photograph of the living room at Bernard Hill's house which was built in 1892 on Douglas Road, later renamed in part Canada Way. Prominent in the photograph is the wallpaper with floral motif and a piano with the top cluttered with vases, plates, framed photographs, etc. The piano stool has an antimacassar, and there is a chair to the left side. Also visible on the left side is a fireplace. This photograph is cropped and reproduced in Michael Sone's book, "Pioneer Tales of Burnaby," pg. 27.
