The fry will leave the creek next May, as 20 gram smolts, heading to the Fraser River via Deer Lake, Burnaby Lake, and the Brunette River. Of the 3,000, one pair may return to the creek as spawning adults. "

The group were all kindergarten students at the first Salmon Send Off 12 years ago, and, like the little fish, they decided to return to do it again to celebrate their graduation from Grade 12 at Burnaby Mountain Secondary."
