�Communities within Burnaby were often threatened by bush fires which were set
to clear the land.The Vancouver Province newspaper dated August 18,1905, reported
two houses located west of Burnaby Lake were burned and a Mrs. Finlayson's barn
and chicken houses were also destroyed by a bush fire that had been
