- Track 2: This portion of the recording pertains to the earning and spending of money, household living arrangements, friends, and recreational activities. Bob describes his small businesses, and how he spent the money he earned. He shares his perspective that the self-sufficiency and practicality of the people he knew at the time had their origin in the community’s experiences of the First World War. Bob discusses his family’s living arrangements, and how they moved as circumstances required, although they always remained in the same area. Bob recalls his school sporting activities, and the Army Cadets organized in his high school during World War II. He talks of his friends and how they played in the bush, at the millponds, and on Still Creek, and how they could skate on the frozen creek to Burnaby Lake. He describes the hunting and fishing, and the field and water trials for retrievers in the marsh.

- Hand-written text on back of photograph in black ink reads: "[missing text] is 12 of our Guides who / [text missing] up to camp with me this / summer. this was taken the / day they left camp to / go home. I didn't leave / that day. I stayed up 3 days / more. They're [missing text] good kids / & full of the very devil / the one in the middle of / the back row sewed up my / pajama legs & top & I couldn't / get into them that night / It was all in good fun though."
- A pre-printed address label was secured to the back of the photograph with adhesive tape: "Mrs. M.L. Williams / 4494 William St. / North Burnaby 2, B.C.". This label has been removed by conservation.

- Photograph of the Second (2nd) Burnaby Girl Guide Company and leaders at a Burnaby Division rally on the grounds of the Burnaby Municipal Hall on Saturday June 20, 1932. The rally took place in the presence of the deputy provincial commissioner, Miss G. Davies who was accompanied by the divisional commissioner, Mrs. A. Moxon Pt. Grey and Mrs. Dallas Perry district commissioiner West Point Grey, parents and friends. Visitors were welcomed by Mrs. Carter, divisional commissioner for Burnaby and the district commissioners Mrs. Peel and Miss A. Leigh. The district captain Mrs. John Graham took charge of the programme designed to illustrate the various phases of camp training including nature studies, crafts and fire and life saving drills.
