- Double sided road map published by Imperial Oil, Ltd. and featuring the main travelled highway routes of British Columbia, Alberta and the Northwestern-most states of the United States of America. The map is a colour lithograph. The main map is green, with the highways highlighted in red. The lithograph was created in Canada by Rolph Clark Stone Ltd in Toronto. The opposite side of the map features inset maps of the following: the Trans-Canada Highway, the highway between Prince Rupert and Prince George, the highway through the Canadian Rockies, and the highway through the Peace River District. Small city plan maps of highways through major cities, as well as advertisements for Imperial Oil products, are also found on the opposite side of the main map. This map is one of four produced by Imperial Oil that covered the most populated areas of Canada from coast to coast and paralleled Imperial Oil's distribution service.

- Fonds consists of photographs of the Ward and Hardy famillies in their daily lives and work, including photographs of teachers and students at South Burnaby High School, and special events such as the Burnaby Civic employees union picnic, the Diamond Jubilee Parade, Princess Margaret's visit and May Day at Central Park. The fonds also includes ephemera documenting Katherine (Hardy) Raasheer's student life at a variety of Burnaby schools and programs from the opening of the Burnaby Municipal Hall in 1956 and a Corporation of Burnaby Service Awards ceremony in 1964.
- History
- Richard Hardy was born in Fishborn, Alberta, on November 3, 1910. In 1922, his family moved to the home of his maternal grandparents at 1127 Edmonds Avenue in Burnaby. His parents, John Harrison Hardy and Gertrude Hephezebarh (nee Ward) moved to Burnaby with their four children: Edith; Richard "Dick"; Geoffrey; and John Edward "Jack". Gertrude was born in Barrie, Ontario. John Harrison Hardy was born in Yorkshire, England, and came to Canada in 1899, settling at Pincer Creek area of Southern Alberta. In about 1910, Richard's grandparents, Col. James Edward Ward and his wife Hephzibah (nee Hale) moved from Alberta to Burnaby. Col. Ward was the postmaster in the Lozell's area of Burnaby and was a city councillor for the District of Burnaby in 1915. Dick was enrolled at Edmonds Street School for his elementary school years, and later attended Burnaby South High School for two years, taking a commercial course. The family attended St. Alban's Anglican Church. While Richard was a student, he and his brother Geoff delivered newspapers in the area, making about $12 per month. In 1911, Dick joined the Burnaby Boy Scouts and continued to be involved for the next 40 years. In 1927, at the age of 17 years, Dick began work for the Corporation of the District of Burnaby as an office boy in the Treasurer's Department and retired as Tax Collections Supervisor in 1973 after 45 years of service. From September 1942 until his discharge in 1946, Dick served in WWII in the Canadian Army. His brother, Jack, served in the Canadian Air Force and was killed in April 1943. In 1933, Dick's parents moved back to Alberta with three of their children, leaving him in the family home on Edmonds Street. In 1939, after courting, he and Mabel Lilian "Mabs" Young of New Westminster married. Prior to her marriage, Mabs was employed as a teacher at the Burnaby South High School. Mabs and Dick had two daughters, Lynne (b. 1941) and Katherine (b. 1947). The family lived on Edmonds Street until 1947 when they moved into their second home in Burnaby at 2006 Buller Avenue (now 7185 Buller Avenue). In 1960, Mabs and Dick moved to their third Burnaby home, located at 4337 Wildwood Crescent. Mabs died in 1980. Dick continued to live in Wilwood Crescent house until 1983, when he moved to an apartment for one year but, missing his garden, he bought a small house with a large yard located at 8452 16th Avenue. He stayed in this house from 1985 until 1998 when he could no longer live independently. He moved to assisted living at Canada Way Lodge then to the nearby George Derby Centre where he lived for a few months before dying in August 2001. Dick loved to hike and camp and enjoyed his family and his garden.

Ward was the postmaster in the Lozells area of Burnaby and was a city councillor for the District of Burnaby in 1915. Dick was enrolled at Edmonds Street School for his elementary school years, and later attended Burnaby South High School for two years, taking a commercial course. The family attended St. Alban's Anglican Church. While Richard was a student, he and his brother Geoff delivered newspapers in the area making about $12 per month. In 1911, Dick joined the Burnaby Boy Scouts and continued to be involved for the next 40 years. In 1927, at the age of 17 years, Dick began work for the Corporation of the District of Burnaby as an office boy in the Treasurer's Department and retired as Tax Collections Supervisor in 1973 after 45 years of service. From September 1942 until his discharge in 1946, Dick served in WWII in the Canadian Army. His brother, Jack, served in the Canadian Air Force and was killed in April,1943. In 1933, Dick's parents moved back to Alberta with three of their children, leaving him in the family home on Edmonds Street. In 1939, after courting, he and Mabel Lilian "Mabs" Young of New Westminster married. Prior to her marriage, Mabs was employed as a teacher at the Burnaby South High School. Mabs and Dick had two daughters, Lynne (b. 1941) and Katherine (b. 1947). The family lived on Edmonds Street until 1947 when they moved into their second home in Burnaby at 2006 Buller Avenue (now 7185 Buller Avenue). In 1960, Mabs and Dick moved to their third Burnaby home, located at 4337 Wildwood Crescent. Mabs died in 1980. Dick continued to live in Wilwood Crescent house until 1983, when he moved to an apartment for one year but, missing his garden, he bought a small house with a large yard located at 8452 16th Avenue. He stayed in this house from 1985 until 1998 when he could no longer live independently. He moved to assisted living at Canada Way Lodge then to the nearby George Derby Centre where he lived for a few months before dying in August 2001. Dick loved to hike and camp and enjoyed his family and his garden.

- Fonds consists of a small collection of photographs documenting the Ferris family's time while Reverend Garfield James Ferris was a minister at the Church of the Nazarene, Burquitlam.
- History
- Reverend Garfield James Ferris and his family moved to Burquitlam from Red Deer, Alberta, in July 1955 to obtain a posting at the Church of Nazarene. Reverend Ferris and his wife Tabea (both aged 34 years) moved together with their three children, Lorne Garfield (age 13), Sharron Rose (age 10), and Faye Muriel (age 6). This was Reverend Ferris' first full-time church posting after having completed his Ministerial training at Canadian Nazarene College in Red Deer, Alberta. The family moved themselves into the parsonage which was located right next to the Church of Nazarene at 577 Clarke Road, Burquitlam. The parsonage was a two-bedroom bungalow, so the three children shared a room with a bunk bed, single bed, and a peg board as a room divider. Tabea Ferris worked for their aunt Marion Johnston who ran the Buena Vista Senior's home in New Westminster and then the Salvation Army Sunset Lodge in New Westminter to augment her husband's salary of $30.00 per week from the church. Reverend Garfield James Ferris was part of the New Westminster Ministerial Association, an Ecumenical group who took turns doing morning daily devotions on CKNW radio. The Ferris children attended Mountain View school, Winslow Junior High School, and Como Lake High School before the family moved to Lulu Island (now Richmond) in 1959.

- Douglas Stewart (1886-1976) was born in Kirkintilloch, Scotland and began working as a butcher at age twelve years. In 1905, at age nineteen years, Douglas immigrated to Canada, first settling in Calgary, Alberta. While in Alberta, John was employed with Burns Meat abattoir, feeding cattle on cattle cars which helped pay his way to Vancouver. Douglas married Jessie Reekie (1888-1975) who was also born in Scotland and the couple had three children, Annie Stewart Shore, Douglas William and Robert Malcolm who were all born in Vancouver. After arriving in Vancouver around 1913, Douglas worked at various meat markets as a butcher. In January 1925, Douglas opened a meat market which he named Thistle Meat Market (also known as Thistle Meats) located near the corner of Kingsway and Cassie Street in Burnaby. The family continued to live in South Vancouver until 1926 when they moved to Burnaby, first residing at 4022 Kingsway with the shop located at 4020 Kingsway. Over the years, Douglas owned buildings with addresses located between 4018 and 4032 Kingsway in Burnaby renting them out as businesses with some residences above. Between 1927 and 1935, Thistle Meats relocated to 4018 Kingsway and between 1927 and 1935 the family relocated their residence to 4020 Kingsway, above a business that was located next door to the shop. Between 1936 and 1953 Thistle Meats relocated to 4028 Kingsway and between 1936 and 1951, Douglas and Jessie relocated their residence to 4030 Kingsway. In 1951, Douglas retired, sold the buildings that he owned along Kingsway and moved to Grafton Street, Burnaby with his wife Jessie. Thistle meats continued to operate at 4028 Kingsway until 1958 and from 1959-1960, it operated at 4534 Kingsway. After Douglas Stewart retired in 1951, H.W. Silzer managed Thistle Meat Market until 1960. Douglas Stewart was a Mason with St. James Lodge No 80 and lifetime member of Kilwinning Lodge No. 29, Kirkintilloch, Scotland. Douglas Stewart died in Burnaby at the age of 91 years and his wife, Jessie died at the age of 87 years.
