There is a wagon drawn by a team of two horses parked or travelling towards the store on the right side of the photograph. The store was owned by Alexander MacKenzie, (1870-1949) who arrived in Vancouver in 1907. There is a discrepancy in the date of the photograph; the accession register dates the photograph 1909 while the donation form signed by the donor dates all the photographs in the accession as 1907 or 1908. Annotations on the bottom front of the card mount read: "Ralph Libby" and "Vancouver B.C." This store later became the Matheson and Sons Market.

Anne and Rolf had two children: son Lane Macey and daughter Naomi Macey. Anne worked as a psychiatric nurse at Essondale Hospital and Director of Volunteer Services at Burnaby General Hospital. She volunteered her time for various clubs, including Save the Children and Dixon House. Anne passed away at Eagle Ridge Manor in Port Moody, BC in 2007.

Scope and Content: Series consists of records created and received by the City Archives during the development and administration of its archival program. History: In February 2001, Council formally approved the City's Corporate Records Management Program. The Program manages the creation, maintenance, and disposition of the records of the City of Burnaby. An integral part of that program is the Records Classification System and Retention Schedule (RCSRS), which provides standardized classification codes among all municipal departments and identifies the retention periods for all classes of records created or received by the City. The City Archives, opened November 10, 2001, is the official repository for all inactive civic records of permanent administrative, legal, fiscal, historical, evidential, or informational value to the City of Burnaby. The Archives is guided by its Mandate and Acquisition Policy which was first adopted by Council on August 13, 2001, and revised on September 18, 2006 to include the acquisition and preservation of private (non-governmental) records that compliment the official city records and enhance understanding of the history and development of Burnaby.
