- File consists of 18 loose pages of a scrapbook created by Ivy McGeachie (nee Ivy Oldham) who was involved in guiding in Burnaby between 1942 -1948. The front page of the scrapbook is titled “Girl / Guiding” and has a wood-burnt image of a camp fire and a singed photo of a flag pole. The scrapbook contains photographs along with bits and pieces of ephemera. Included in the material is a four page, type-written diary of a Girl Guide camp held at Aldergrove Beach in August of 1963. Many of the photographs document the activities of the 2nd Burnaby Girl Guide Company and include photos of Ivy and Margaret McGeachie in uniform on roller skates; Burnaby District Camp (Aldergrove, BC) / 1948; Hiking; Canadian Girl Guide Golden Jubilee; Open House at St. Alban’s church hall; a hand tinted photo of Ivy McGeachie 1939 and the 2nd Kamloops Folk Dance – Yale Cariboo Musical festival 1951.

- Biographical Notes
- Born in 1922 in Dresden and trained as a pianist, Ingeborg (Weigler) Haacke came to Vancouver in 1952 with her husband, eldest daughter, and son. Ingeborg found work in Burnaby but her husband did not wish to stay. By 1953 they were divorced, with Ingeborg keeping the children in Burnaby. In 1955 Ingeborg (Weigler) Haacke married her second husband Roy Raymer. The first auto court in British Columbia, the Oasis, was originally owned and operated by Roy Raymer's parents. Roy was responsible for running the Oasis gas station and he and Ingeborg also built an attached drive-in restaurant on the property. During this time, Ingeborg and Roy had two sons together. After the auto court was sold in 1964, Ingeborg followed Roy on a job to Banff where she began sketching and painting. Over the course of her art career, Ingeborg has studied at Douglas College, Emily Carr College of Art, and Capilano College, earned an Associate of Arts Degree and an honorary Degree from the Accademia Internazionale Greci Marino. Ingeborg also founded the Burnaby Artists' Guild in 1970 of which she is an honorary Lifetime Member. She currently teaches private art classes out of her studio.

- Eric Damer is a lifelong British Columbian born in Victoria, raised in Kamloops, and currently residing in Burnaby. After studying philosophy at the University of Victoria, he became interested in the educational forces that had shaped his own life. He completed master’s and doctoral degrees in educational studies at the University of British Columbia with a particular interest in the history of adult and higher education in the province. In 2012, Eric worked for the City of Burnaby as a field researcher and writer, conducting interviews for the City Archives and Museum Oral History Program.

- Interviewees' biographies: Lama Tenzin Sherpa was born in Nepal in 1977. When he was around 11 years old his father sent him to the Sonada Monastery (also known as sthe Samdrub Dhargay Choling Monastery) in West Bengal to begin his training to become a Tibetan Buddhist monk. In 1989, the same year that Kalu Rinpoche died, Lama Tenzin became a monk. He continued to live at the monastery for 20 years. In 2012, Lama Tenzin completed his three year retreat and took up various responsibilities at the Salagura Stupa Kunchab Chodey. In 2015, Lama Tenzin was invited to Canada as a resident teacher at the Tibetan Buddhist Dharma Centre “Kagyu Kunkhyab Chuling” (KKC) located at 4941 Sidley Street, Burnaby and the Niguma Meditation Centre's retreat centre Kunzang Dechen Osel Ling (KDOL) on Saltspring Island. Lama Sue Salter (Karma Lhamo) has been a student of Kalu Rinpoche since 1974. In 1980, she completed a three year retreat at the Palden Shangpa La Boulaye in France. She's served on the Board of Directors, as a retreat coordinator and a teacher in Tibetan at the Kagyu Kunkhyab Chuling and Kunzang Dechen Osel Ling (KDOL). Lama Sue also worked for years as a registered nurse and registered social worker and retired in 2018. Interviewer biography: James Binks has lived in the Lower Mainland since 2009 after relocating from Ontario. James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of British Columbia, where he conducted researched on heritage, environment, and globalization in India, Nepal, and Italy. At Burnaby Village Museum, James contributed to the exhibit “Truths Not Often Told: Being South Asian in Burnaby”.
