- The item is a bulk product stocked by a pharmacy. Up until the 1950s, pharmacists provided most prescription medications by creating compounds of bulk products that were given to customers as pills, salves, or tonics. A round glass stopper bottle. Label under glass (LUG) labelled "Syr. Simplex". Has orange gellatinous residue on bottom and chip on rim.
