- Inspection Card - Immigration form -- [1909]. Inspection card for T. McNair when he immigrated to Canada from England in 1909. He sailed on the S.S. Corsican from Liverpool England. The inspection card was started on January 8, 1909. There are two stamps on the form, one for passing the Medical Inspection. The other stamp is from the Dominion Immigration Agency in St. John, New Brunswick stating that McNair passed inspection on January 17th, 1909. The back of the card advises that the card be kept for three years in case it is wanted by the Government. The phrase was translated in to eleven other languages.
- Object History
- Receipt belonging to Thomas Seaborn McNair, who was born on May 15 1888 to Francis McNair and Elizabeth Taylor at sea off New Zealand. He immigrated to Canada in 1909. He worked as an accountant and estate agent. He married Mary Vida McMillan in 1917. Thomas ran Edwards, McNair and Russell in Vancouver (presumably an accounting firm). Thomas McNair died in 1982.

- Summers Trafalgar Supply - Envelope -- [194-?]. Envelope order form for Summers Trafalgar Supply on 4106 Imperial Street, Burnaby, for photography development. The form was for Mrs. Chandler. There is various pencil markings on the envelope along with ink stamps. The back side of the envelope advertises glossy englargements of photographs at Summers Trafalgar Supply, and picture enlargement at The Stride Studios. The envelope measures 17.5cm x 12cm.

- War Savings Certificates - Envelope, Form -- [1942]. Form that folds into an envelope for Canadian War Saving Certificates. The form was filled out by Iris Murray who was 15 when the form was completed. The front cover of the form has an illustration of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and a Lion with a boiling pot labelled War Savings, over a fire. Mickey Mouse is stirring the post with a flag pole that has the Union Jack on the top. Donald Duck is fueling the fire with logs labelled Loans. There is a caption under the illustration "KEEP THE POT A-BOILIN'!!!". The illustration was provided courtesy of Walt. Disney. Below the illustration is "Serve by Saving". The envelope is pre addressed to The National Chairmen of the War Savings Committee in Ottawa. Inside the form there are illustrated charts describing the economic situation. The form provides space to affix Saving Stamps where Iris has two stamps placed. The form measures 34.5cm x 17.5cm when folded out.

- Object History
- Item was part of a scrapbook created by Cecil Chue Kan Lee documenting the time he was employed as a Prodcue Buyer for Kelly Douglas and Company Limited and Western Commodities Limited in the 1970s and early 1980s. As a produce buyer for Kelly Douglas, Cecil Lee worked closely with local farmers along Marine Drive and in the Fraser Valley. The Burnaby company was one of the largest food distributors in Canada. In the mid-1970s, Lee was asked to oversee the import of Chinese mandarin oranges into Canada. Until that time, mandarin oranges had come from Japan and were sold in the winter, especially at Christmas. When the Japanese market could no longer keep up with demand, Kelly Douglas looked to China. The company relied on Lee’s cultural knowledge to build this very profitable part of their business.

The goal was to raise 3.5 Million Dollars for a four phase expansion project for Music and Sound Studios, Performing Arts Studios, Community Art Gallery, Multi-use Studio Theatre and a Community Theatre. The form folds into an envelope that can be mailed to the City of Burnaby. The form measures 28cm x 21.5cm.
