In his letter, Colin reflects on Christmas dinner and how he celebrated New Years Eve. He also tells of how they put on a party for two hundred and fifty kids in town. The men in service made a bunch of toys and saved candy and chocolate bars from their parcels to gift to the children and one of them handed them out while dressed as Santa Clause. He tells of how he's going on leave again this month and thanks his aunt for gifts that she sent.

Copeland expressed a request on behalf of council and the citizens of the Corporation of the District of Burnaby, that the district be granted arms by lawful authority as a permanent memorial to honour Burnaby's Centennial of Incorporation in 1992. On the 13th day of March 1991, the Chief Herald of Canada authorized amorial bearings that were fitting and appropriate to Burnaby.
