Church and also a
member of the Burnaby School Board.
To attend the School Board meetings he had to walk up Gilley Limits
(now Sperling) and along Kingsway to Central Park, a considerable
distance. These meetings usually lasted so long that the trek home had to
be made with only the light of the lantern
