Flying Officer Joseph Corsbie was decorated for his actions on December 31, 1944 when his aircraft was severly damaged by enemy fighter aircraft, members of the crew were wounded and the captain had difficulty controlling the aircraft which was forced to make a crash landing at RAF Manston (England).
