The book series seems to have made their way through some of Jesse Love's daughter's children. Mrs. Whiting. Sarah (Love) Parker, daughter of Jesse Love, even named her daughter Elsie (Parker) Hughes after the main character of the series. The books seem to have made their way through the children and grand children of Annie (Love) and Wallace Whiting. This photograph was taken while Elsie Hughes (nee Love), her husband John Hughes and son Brent Hughes lived in the house.
- History
- Elsie is the daughter of Sarah (nee Love) and William Parker. Sarah and William purchased the Love farmhouse in 1928, shortly after the death of Sarah's father, Jesse Love. Sarah and William Parker lived in the house with their three children, Albert, Bill and Elsie. William Parker died in 1961 and Sarah continued to live in the house until 1966 before selling it to her daughter Elsie and son in law John Hughes. Elsie and John lived in the house with their son Brent until 1971.

The house was located at 7651 Cumberland Street (Address pre 1960: 1390 Cumberland Road) and was moved from its original site to the Burnaby Village Museum in 1988 and designated a Municipal Heritage Landmark in 1992. Elsie is the daughter of Sarah (nee Love) and William Parker. Sarah and William purchased the house in 1928, shortly after the death of Sarah's father, Jesse Love. Sarah and William Parker lived in the house with their three children, Albert, Bill and Elsie. William Parker died in 1961 and Sarah continued to live in the house until 1966 before selling it to her daughter Elsie and son in law John Hughes. Elsie and John lived in the house with their son Brent until 1971.

In this side view of the house, you can see the kitchen addition and verandah. This photograph was taken while Elsie Hughes (nee Love), her husband John Hughes and son Brent Hughes lived in the house. Elsie is the daughter of Sarah (nee Love) and William Parker. Sarah and William purchased the house in 1928, shortly after the death of Sarah's father, Jesse Love. Sarah and William Parker lived in the house with their three children, Albert, Bill and Elsie. William Parker died in 1961 and Sarah continued to live in the house until 1966 before selling it to her daughter Elsie and son in law John Hughes. Elsie and John lived in the house with their son Brent until 1971.

Sarah and William purchased the house in 1928, shortly after the death of Sarah's father, Jesse Love. Sarah and William Parker lived in the house with their three children, Albert, Bill and Elsie. William Parker died in 1961 and Sarah continued to live in the house until 1966 before selling it to her daughter Elsie and son in law John Hughes. - Sarah Parker (nee Love) and William Parker lived in the Jesse Love farmhouse with their children: Albert, Bill and Elsie from 1925. Elsie married John Hughes in 1942 and they had three children; Brent, Anne and John. Sarah Parker sold the Love farmhouse to her daughter Elsie and husband John Hughes in 1966. Elsie and John Hughes had four children; John Jr., Ann, Brent and Merle. They lived in the Love farmhouse with their son Brent until 1971.

- Photograph of members of the Parker family and friends holding tennis rackets and standing on a tennis court at 1390 Cumberland Road. People are identified from L to R as; Lucy Deacon, Sid Batton, Walter Harris, Elsie Parker, Maud, Albert Parker, Bill Parker, Elsie Parker, Jo Harris and William Parker. The tennis court was built by William Parker with help from his son Albert. The court was first made of dirt, then grass with wood layed across to flatten it out. In the late 1920s William made the court out of wood. William and Sarah (nee Love) Parker purchased the Love farmhouse at 1390 Cumberland Road in 1928 after Sarah's father, Jesse Love died. William and Sarah lived there with their three children Albert, Bill and Elsie until 1961.

Jim Wolf walks through the Love Farmhouse with Elsie Hughes after it was moved onto the site of the Burnaby Village Museum in 1988. Elsie Hughes is the daughter of William and Sarah Parker and granddaughter of Jesse and Martha Love. Elsie married John Malcolm Hughes at St. Alban's Church in Burnaby on April 9, 1942. Elsie and Jim discuss the furnishings, decoration and amenities of the house at the time she moved into it in 1925 with her family. Elsie’s recollections were to be used as a resource for redecorating and refurnishing the house as it was in 1925 for its use as an exhibit at the Burnaby Village Museum. An unidentified man is also present, and sometimes contributes to the conversation.

Jim Wolf walks through the Love Farmhouse with Elsie Hughes after it was moved onto the site of the Burnaby Village Museum in 1988. Elsie Hughes is the daughter of William and Sarah Parker and granddaughter of Jesse and Martha Love. Elsie married John Malcolm Hughes at St. Alban's Church in Burnaby on April 9, 1942. Elsie and Jim discuss the furnishings, decoration and amenities of the house at the time she moved into it in 1925 with her family. Elsie’s recollections were to be used as a resource for redecorating and refurnishing the house as it was in 1925 for its use as an exhibit at the Burnaby Village Museum. An unidentified man is also present, and sometimes contributes to the conversation.

- Subseries consists of records created and collected during research of the Love family and the Love family farmhouse and include oral history interviews in various formats. Interviews were conducted by Jim Wolf and Burnaby Village Museum curator Colin Stevens with members of the Love family including; Annie Chamberlain, William Parker, Esther Stanley, Albert Parker and Elsie Hughes. Interviews were focused on the subject of the interior and exterior of the farmhouse from a first person perspective. The goal was to obtain as much information as possible from family members in order to accurately restore, furnish and exhibit the farmhouse back to it's original 1920s era.
