John (Jack) Bancroft Waplington and Sarah Alice Cogswell Waplington (nee Nickerson) were the owners of the house and property located at 3813 Deer Lake Avenue from 1925 to 1946. Ray and Frances Louise Fleming (nee Waplington) owned the home from 1947 to 1958. In 1959 the Burnaby Municipality purchased the Fleming property at this location and rented it out for several years prior to it's demolition around 1970 to make way for Burnaby Heritage Village.

A collection of written material provides historical background regarding the two storey cabin on Hollyburn Mountain. The cabin was purchased by Burnaby Girl Guides in 1964 and appropriately named Burnaby Chalet. A Chalet Committee was formed with representatives from each Division appointing a Chalet Manageress to handle reservations. This typical ski cabin can accomodate up to 40 people. The file also includes a "Campsite Log Book" for the Hollyburn Chalet with handwritten notes from 1981 and 1982, an embroidered triangular shaped badge "Burnaby Royal / Girl Guides / Hollyburn Chalet" and a dedication ceremony program for "Burnaby Guide Camp / June 8, 1958" (Wilson Creek).

- File consists of a master copy of an article created by Paulene Hall for the newsletter "Guidelines Burnaby Royal Area" - "Accent on the Archives". Burnaby Guide archival materials were compiled from scrapbooks, photographs, newspapers, biographies and research to create articles for the newsletter. Subject matter within this file is about Phyllis Munday. In 1924 Phyllis with her colleague Annette Buck became the first women to reach the summit of Mount Robson. During her lifetime she scaled over 100 peaks many of which were in B.C.'s remote Coast Mountains. At Guiders' conferences Phyllis inspired many young Guiders with her stories about her life and Guiding experiences. Munday was granted the Order of Canada in 1973 for her pioneering efforts and for her dedicated service to the Girl Guides, St. John Ambulance and the Alpine Club of Canada. A stamp was created in her honour in 1998.

- File consists of a typewritten history of the Burnaby North Trefoil Guild written by Eleanor Galbraith on February 1, 1999 along with her membership card, six pages of membership lists (February 1987, January 3, 1998, November 8, 1998, March 2000, January 2001 and November 2001) and a letter from Girl Guides of Canada to Eleanor Galbraith re: criminal record check. The first meeting of the Burnaby North Trefoil Guild was held at Eleanor Galbraith's home at 3950 Eton Street on February 18, 1987. The first president of the guild was Mary Montemurro with Donna Miller as Secretary and Eleanor Galbraith as treasurer. Meetings were first held at members homes and later at Willingdon Community Centre and Lochdale Hall. Members have held social events such as Christmas parties, picnics and outings on Burnaby Mountain as well as fundraising events and helping out at different Girl Guide activities.

Portions of Lot 100 and Lot 101 are each divided into 6 sections and the Portion of Lot 3 plan is divided into 24 sections. The plan includes a note in black ink that reads: " Received from Wm Fromme [sic] / from Wm. Trapp / Nov. 28, 1895 / A. J. T...[sic]". (Geographic location: Burnaby) 9. Plan drawn in black ink (no title) identifying soil, buildings and geographic features in southern Burnaby. The plan is bordered by "New Westminster City" (Tenth Avenue and DL 172) to the south east and DL 173 to the south, DL 158 to the west and the B.C.E. Tramway to the north. Plan includes District Lots: 155A, 158, 159, 171, 160, 53 and 95 and identifies soil, marshland and ravines throughout. Plan identifies the following features: a "Team Road" running through Lots 158 and 159 along with "Fair Orchard Soil / Even Surface Throughout / No Ravines", "Gravel and Shingle" (bottom of Lot 158), "North Arm Road" crossing "Byrne Road" and connecting with "Power House Road" which runs north to connect with "Highland Park Station" and the B.C.E. The plan is bordered by the following District Lots identified as: 117, 118 and 68 to the west, Lots 80, 79 and 85 to the southwest, Lots 11, 13, and 1 (City of New Westminster) to the south east, the North Road boundary to the east and Lots 8, 56, 57, 59, and 136 to the North. These notes were taken during telephone and in person interviews between Lisa Langlet (or Jim Wolf) and members of the Love family including: Albert Parker; Esther Stanley (nee Love); Leonard Love; Mrs. Bill Parker; Annie Chamberlain (nee McKenzie); Ruth Boruck (nee Love); Elsie Hughes (nee Parker) and Gordon Love. Notes include information about growing up and living in the house on Cumberland Street. This information was used by the curator to assist in designing the exhibits within the farmhouse. Information in these interviews was broken down into references to rooms within the house, gardens, outbuildings and activities at home.
