Flyer promoting the Burnaby Central Railway construction and maintenance, and asking for community support. The flyer lists a number of community parters that were already involved in the project.
Object History
Burnaby Central Railway Project was constructed on the site of Heritage Village and was financed by the British Columbia Society of Model Engineers; Century Park Museum Association (via Burnaby Parks); Federal Government New Horizons Program and B.C. Goverment Recreation Facilities fund. British Columbia Society of Model Engineers (B.C.M.E.) operated the Burnaby Central Railway inside Heritage Village (Burnaby Village Museum) between 1975 and 1991.

H.Y. Louie's Cash & Carry - Flyer -- [1980]. Flyer or flier printed on blue legal sized paper for H.Y. Louie's Cash and Carry business. The flyer advertised different products that could be purchased and the sale price for the time period of November 10 to 14, 1980.
The flyer was folded into four panels horizontally and stapled closed for mailing. On the back of the paper is the address for the Canada Way Market.

Object History
Burnaby South High School was renamed Hugh M. Fraser High in 1941?, but was changed back to the original name a short time later. Hugh M. Fraser was appointed commissioner of the municipality of Burnaby when it was forced into receivership and at the end of 1932, after a dispute with the Provincial government about relief payments for the unemployed. A Provincial Commission stepped in to take over the governance of the city, under Hugh M. Fraser.

The Farrand Rapid Rule - Advertisement -- [192-]. Advertisement for the Farrand Rapid Rule from the Hiram A. Farrand Inc. in Berlin. The ruler being advertised is made from steel and is said to bend easily and measure curves. Along both sides of the page are four illustrations of the different uses of the ruler. The advert provides a six inch ruler as an example of its flexibility. The sample ruler was made in the USA and patented in Canada in 1928. The advertisement measures 28cm x 25.5cm.
