- The Highland Park sub-division in District Lot 97, was in part a real estate development by the company owned by the Thomson family. James and Melville P. Thomson, owned and operated "Thomson Bros." They had extensive property interests in Vancouver and Burnaby and owned and operated a book selling and stationery business in Vancouver.

- The Ranger Star was available be subscription and was published quarterly in West Burnaby B.C. Editor of quarterly was Joy Mennie and Associate editor, Bessie Carter. This volume belonged to Dorothy Pitman who was a Girl Guide in the 1st Burnaby Company. She was known to be involved with guiding from 1919 to 1931. Textual records and photographs of the Pitman family, including one of Dorothy and her sister Gwen, are held by the City of Burnaby Archives. Dorothy and Gwen's parents, Ernest and Jean Pitman, owned McKay Dry Goods and Jubilee Dry Goods.

- Scope and Content
- Subseries consists of records created and collected during research of the Love family and the Love family farmhouse and include oral history interviews in various formats. Interviews were conducted by Jim Wolf and Burnaby Village Museum curator Colin Stevens with members of the Love family including; Annie Chamberlain, William Parker, Esther Stanley, Albert Parker and Elsie Hughes. Interviews were focused on the subject of the interior and exterior of the farmhouse from a first person perspective. The goal was to obtain as much information as possible from family members in order to accurately restore, furnish and exhibit the farmhouse back to it's original 1920s era.
