The majority of the file consists of records pertaining to Mabel's work as the Censor of Moving Pictures in British Columbia (1928-1931), her work as a writer and newspaper editor and her work as Provincial Representative of the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire "I.O.D.E." for the League of Nations Society. Other correspondence includes two letters addressed to Mabel's sons Cedric Hawkshaw in 1972, the other (a photocopy) addressed to Mr. E.D.B. (Dal) Hawkshaw 1970 (date of original) from New Brunswick Provincial Archives regarding the naming of village of Hawkshaw, New Brunswick.

These notes were taken during telephone and in person interviews between Lisa Langlet (or Jim Wolf) and members of the Love family including: Albert Parker; Esther Stanley (nee Love); Leonard Love; Mrs. Bill Parker; Annie Chamberlain (nee McKenzie); Ruth Boruck (nee Love); Elsie Hughes (nee Parker) and Gordon Love. Notes include information about growing up and living in the house on Cumberland Street. This information was used by the curator to assist in designing the exhibits within the farmhouse. Information in these interviews was broken down into references to rooms within the house, gardens, outbuildings and activities at home.

- File consists of a collection of photographs which were taken in 1998 by Researcher/Registrar, Lisa Langlet to document the restoration process along with the curating of artifacts and furnishings to be included in the farmhouse exhibit. The photographs are arranged by Year / Roll number / Photograph number. Book 2 includes photographs documenting: Items of furniture, dishes, tools, utensils and light fixtures that were purchased or considered for purchase in the farmhouse exhibit along with artifacts from the collection (ie: dining room light fixture from original farmhouse); the tin ceiling in the parlour; parlour windows and front door before and after painting and restoration; garden in mid July and October; the process of adhering unbleached cotton to walls before installing new wallpaper; historic linoleum purchased from Jim Wolf and installed in the bedroom and hallway; old wallpaper; installation of new wallpaper in dining room; re-covering of "eastlake" [sic] chair; restoration of wall between bedroom and dining room; original upstairs door found in house; John and Elsie (nee Parker) Hughes visiting the farmhouse at the end of Sept. 1998; closeups of woodwork and trim; samples of new "Burnaby" wallpaper; reupholstering of a settee and chair; installation of "Burnaby Ceiling" wallpaper in hallway; layers of cheesecloth and glue used before "Burnaby" wallpaper was installed; outside location of waterpipe to basement along parlour wall; water shut off on street and installation of "Burnaby" wallpaper in parlour.

- File consists of 18 loose pages of a scrapbook created by Ivy McGeachie (nee Ivy Oldham) who was involved in guiding in Burnaby between 1942 -1948. The front page of the scrapbook is titled “Girl / Guiding” and has a wood-burnt image of a camp fire and a singed photo of a flag pole. The scrapbook contains photographs along with bits and pieces of ephemera. Included in the material is a four page, type-written diary of a Girl Guide camp held at Aldergrove Beach in August of 1963. Many of the photographs document the activities of the 2nd Burnaby Girl Guide Company and include photos of Ivy and Margaret McGeachie in uniform on roller skates; Burnaby District Camp (Aldergrove, BC) / 1948; Hiking; Canadian Girl Guide Golden Jubilee; Open House at St. Alban’s church hall; a hand tinted photo of Ivy McGeachie 1939 and the 2nd Kamloops Folk Dance – Yale Cariboo Musical festival 1951.
