Photograph of Farouk Verjee, when he was spokesman for the Darkhana Jamatkhana in Burnaby, which was officially opened in 1985. As secretary of the development board, he represented the Ismaili community at public hearings, coordinated media and community relations, architect selection, and organized the ground-breaking and opening ceremonies. Farouk Verjee is a past National President of the Ismaili Muslim Community of Canada; past member of the Ismaili Leaders International Forum and ex-officio member of the National Committee of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada. He is currently the president of Chase Realty Corporation.
