Program for the Official Opening and Dedication of the 1912 Burnaby Centennial Parker Carousel and the Don Wrigley Pavilion, at Burnaby Village Museum, March 25, 1993. The program is printed on heavy card stock of an off-white colour. The text and images are printed in a dark blue ink. The stock is an 11 by 17 inch sheet folded in half giving four pages 8.5 by 11 inches. The front cover features an artists image of a carousel and Burnaby logos. The first inside page features "The Story of the Carousel" , History of C.W. Parker Carousel No. 119" and "The Don Wrigley Pavilion". Page two features "Dedication Ceremony" program. The back cover features, "The Friends of the Carousel", Highlights of the New Facility", "Carousel Operation", "Acknowledgements" and "Special Thanks To".

A Childhood Safety Calendar from Helen's Children's Wear from 1966. The front page of the calendar has a airbrushed image of a small girl smiling with blue eyes. She has a headband with silver pom-poms. She is holding a doll with a red hat and braids. The first two pages of the calendar are entitled "Children's Safety Diary. Each month of the calendar has a different image of a child. The back page has a reading entitled "Safety: Your Child's Most Important Lesson!"

Helen's Children's Wear was a popular and well known shop in Burnaby in the 1960s.

Scope and Content

Photograph of Edith Ford Fountain dressed in formal wear in front of the stone fireplace in her living room. She is dressed to attend an Royal Canadian Mounted Police ball in a long black gown with a fur stole and white evening gloves. Her husband Edward Fountain was the first City of Burnaby License Inspector in 1949 (he worked for the City until he retired in 1970).

Administrative History

Edward and Edith Fountain purchased a home in the Deer Lake area in 1951. 6661 Russel Ave., Burnaby, also know as Moorcroft, was purchased from the builder, Arthur Moore. Edward Fountain was the first City of Burnaby License Inspector in 1949, in 1952 he became the Personnel Director, when he retired in 1970 his position was Assistant Manager. Edward and Edith, who loved to dance, attended many social events, parties and balls due to Edward's positions within the City of Burnaby.
