Scope and Content
Film footage created by Harry Pride documenting the move of BC Electric Interurban Tram 1223 from Royal Oak warehouse (6857 Royal Oak Avenue) to the Burnaby Village Museum (6501 Deer Lake Avenue). Restoration of the tram was undertaken by the "Friends of Interurban 1223" between 2001 and 2007 at the Royal Oak warehouse before being moved to the newly built tram barn at Burnaby Village Museum. The top portion of the tram and two tram trucks were loaded onto flatbeds and early Friday February 16, 2007 the tram was moved to the museum arriving just before 5 am. Members of the Friends of Interurbran 1223 along with Burnaby Village Museum staff gathered at the museum in anticipation of it being moved to its final destination. A 200-ton crane and a crew from Nikel Brothers house movers hoisted the Interurban 1223 into position before it was winched inside the tram barn.
