Information about the Murchie's company, guarantees and instructions on how to make a cup of tea are included. Underside of lid is a crown with "1977" "THE QUEEN'S SILVER JUBILEE". - Tin, metal box with hinged lid. Lid has coloured portraits of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. Each side has portrait of Queen Victoria from four different years. Each portrait is framed with a gold coloured border and is surrounded by a few flowers.
- Object History
- On 22 September 1896, Victoria surpassed George III as the longest reigning monarch in English, Scottish, and British history. The Queen requested all special public celebrations of the event to be delayed until 1897, to coincide with her Diamond Jubilee. The Colonial Secretary, Joseph Chamberlain, proposed that the Diamond Jubilee be made a festival of the British Empire.

- Lid has "Prince Albert" and "Queen Victoria" to the side of each portrait and "1837" between the portraits. Under each of the portraits on the sides of the tin are the dates "1897", "1821", "1837" and "1832". Underside of tin has partial stamp "...FRY Co LONDON" "MAKER".

- Glass mug. Small clear glass commemorative mug with gold rim. "E II R" on front. On either side of lettering is a lion and a unicorn holding up a crown.
- Object History
- The coronation usually takes place several months after the death of the previous monarch, as it is considered a joyous occasion that would be inappropriate when mourning still continues. This also gives planners enough time to complete the elaborate arrangements required. Elizabeth II was crowned on June 2, 1953, despite having acceded to the throne on February 6, 1952, the instant her father died. British law states that the throne is not left 'vacant' and the new Monarch succeeds the old immediately.
