John Shaw was part of this air force singing group which performed in Calgary, Alberta and he has written on the back of the photograph: "The octet singing 'The West, A Nest and You.' We look kinda sick, I figure. Note the wedge in my pants - hasn't faded, even after two months." John is third from the right, looking down at the music sheet.
