- The core of the Jessie Love farm house is a 1893 two story, pioneer tent style building. The home was added to over the years and became a large Craftsmen style farm house.
- Object History
- Built on Cumberland Road in Burnaby in 1893. Music Room/Parlour/Living Room and bedrooms above added c.1898. Kitchen added c.1908. The home of Jesse and Martha Love and their eleven children. One of Burnaby's oldest structures. The home was moved to Burnaby Village Museum in the late 1980s and has been partially restored to its 1920s appearance.

The pamphlet was produced by Civilian Protection Air Raid Precautions, Advisory Council, and the Provincial Civilian Protection Committee. - For his country's sake - Memorial Card -- [1917]. Memorial card for Lieutenant Lawrence Labell Davidson of the 5th Battalion C.E.F. The front of the card has a silver and black border. In the centre is a cross with a wreath below it and two Union Jack flags at half mast on either side with the flag poles crossing at the top of the cross. Below this is "For his country's sake." Inside the card are the same borders. On the left side is the 5th Battalion crest for Western Cavalry. On the right side is information in silver text about Lawrence Davidson. He was wounded at Passchendaele on November 11th 1917 and died in hospital on November 25th in No.14 General Hospital, France at age 21. The bottom of the card says "Regina 1917".

- National Songs of the Allies - Sheet Music/Song Booklet -- [1914]. Booklet of music containing the National Anthems for the allies from World War I. The booklet contains songs for Great Britain, Canada, Australia, India, South Africa, Serbia, Japan, Russia, France and Belgium. The front cover has six flags from the various allies. The songs were translated by J.A.S. and arranged by T Martin. The publication was copyrighted by R.E. Forsyth in 1914. For Canada both "The Maple Leaf Forever" and the French version of "O Canada" is listed. The booklet is staple bound and is 20cm x 27cm.

memorial drinking fountain

- The Memorial fountain is made of British Columbia granite. The fountain is currently three courses of rough stone, leading up to the smooth water bowl. Two side pillars carry the memorial stone and the peaked cap stone at the top. The memorial stone's face is smooth, to present the cut text of the memorial. There is a maple leaf cut into the face of the cap stone. The text and the maple leaf are highlighted with black paint. There is a small block at the rear of the fountain to allow children easy access and there is a smooth stone drinking bowl for animals at the proper right of the base of the fountain. The fountain on its original site was four courses high. In its current site the bottom course is set level with the ground. The main bowl is supplied with running water but the animal bowl is dry.
- Object History
- The fountain was erected by the Burnaby Civic Employees Union (now CUPE Local 23) and is dedicated to Union members who died in the Great War. Local stonemason, William Williamson, constructed the fountain in 1923 and it was unveiled on June 17, 1923. In 1977, the fountain was moved and rededicated from the old Burnaby Municipal Hall site to its current site at Burnaby Village Museum. On November 23, 1992, the fountain was given official Heritage Designation by Bylaw # 9807, Municipality of Burnaby
- Marks/Labels
- "IN MEMEORY / OF OUR FELLOW WORKERS WHO FELL IN THE WAR / 1914 - 1918 / ERECTED BY / THE CIVIC EMPLOYEES UNION - BURNABY - 1923", cut into the smoothed face of the memorial stone on the fountain. There is a maple leaf cut into the face of the cap stone on the top of the fountain. The maple leaf motif is also used on veteran grave stones.

- Officers' Mess - Receipt -- [191-]. RAF receipt for the Officers' Mess for A Simpson. Simpson was owing for the Messing Subscription and the Sports Subscription. Total owing was 3s 9d. The receipt was signed by W. Warren for Mess President. The receipt is 17.5cm x 10.8cm.

- Protection Certificate - Certificate -- [1919]. Protection Certificate for the Repatriation of Arthur Simpson of Nanaimo, BC. Arthur Simpson was a temporary officer ranked Second Lieutenant in the R.A.F. and was being repatriated from the Winchester Camp in September 1919. The certificate states that Simpson was an Engineer, was born in 1896 and was married. The document was signed by Simpson and the Repatriation Camp Officer. The certificate is 21.5cm x 17cm.

- Small maple hunting bow. A leather thong is tied to one end of the bow. It is loose at the other end, although, there is a knot that could slip over the bow. There are traces of green paint on the wood. Interior Salish: Nlaka’pamux: Spuzzum First Nation
- Object History
- Homer Barnett writes about Coast Salish bows: “the main hunting bow did not differ from the one used in fighting. It was made of yellow cedar root when this wood could be obtained from the mountains. The trunk wood was also used. An alternative was yew. Inferior bows for ducks and other birds were made from hardhack. Bows were about three or four feet long/ The were rather flat and were about the breadth of three fingers at the widest parts on either side of the grip, which was constricted and slightly thicker. They tapered from the centre towards both ends. The ends were curved away from the holder for a better string purchase (1955:100)
- Plant fibres were seldom made into bow strings. More common were two-ply cords of sinew or gut. Atypically, a skin thong was used (1955:101).
