end of the year. Elected by acclamation, thus saving the casting of ballots,
were Charles R. Shaw as Reeve with Councillors William Brenchley,

Westminster and Vancouver Tramway Company
The completion of the Canadian Pacific Rail-
way to Vancouver and its branch-line to New
Westminster, completed in 1886, sparked re-
newed confidence and development in the re-
gion. Soon traffic between the two "sister" cities
had grown
