Description
Employee badge, "B.C.E.RY.CO. / 3154 / TRANSIT PERSONNEL". Raised oval shape with a flat back. Plastic or similar material. Obverse is yellow with black lettering, reverse is finished with a silvery plating. There is a punched hole on the left side of the badge. Badge is dirty and yellow is faded. The obverse is split from the hole on the left towards the middle of the bottom edge. Reverse is coroded.
Object History
Badge was the property of donor's father who was a conductor on interurban 1223.

Description
A green wooden box which mounted inside the header of an interurban or streetcar. On the front is a brass plate painted black with "CANADIAN WESTINGHOUSE CO." "Multiple Control System" "Patented 1900 1911". Has a hinged top with a spring loaded clasp at the front bottom. Two flanges extend on both sides of the box with four large holes at each corner for mounting. Five bolts in total (three at one end and two at the end with the slot) extend from the front to the back at each end to hold the box together. A slot is located at one end. At the top are two 4 cm holes allowing for the entrance and exit of electrical cables. Inside are the remains of one of the copper contacts. Length: 50 cm Width: 18 cm Height: 20.1 cm

Item consists of edited historic film footage and still images of British Columbia Electric Railway (B.C.E.R.) trams including the Burnaby Lake Line [between the 1920s and 1950s] as well as documentary footage of the restoration of Interurban Tram 1223 by the "Friends of the Interurban 1223" at the Royal Oak warehouse and the Burnaby Village Museum. The edited film footage includes overlayed music throughout and title frames identifying the various stations and locations in the historic B.C.E.R. footage. Item consists of film titled "Luncheon-Opening" created by Bryan Ness. The film documents the Friends of Interurban 1223 Volunteer Luncheon event taking place at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on March 17, 2007 and the ribbon cutting ceremony and opening of the Interurban Tram 1223 at Burnaby Village Museum. At the luncheon ceremony Cultural Services director, Denis Nokony makes a speech in recognition of Friends of the Interurban 1223 in the restoration of the tram. Officiating members of Friends of Interurban 1223 make presentations to the many volunteers and staff for their service.

Photograph of a powerhouse with tall smoke stacks, located beside railway tracks. Three trams can be seen on the right side of the photograph and men are standing outside of the building. According to an accompanying note, the powerhouse doubled as a steam plant and a car barn. Constructed in 1891, it was between Edmonds and Highland Park on the Central Park Interurban Line. The steam plant provided power to run the line, then operated by Westminster and Vancouver Tramway Company.

Margaret Pearl Naismith (1887-1970) married Alexander "Allie" MacPherson Cowan (1881-1963) in 1910 in Kamloops BC. Photograph of two men, identified as Bud Pope (conductor) and Bill Stewart (motorman), standing on the front of Interurban tram #1224 at Horne-Payne Siding. Faintly visible in the background are transmission towers. According to the accession register and notes in the accession file, the photograph was taken on the last day of the Burnaby Lake line run.
