- Item consists of an air mail letter written by Sergeant Colin Rhodes Fox of the Royal Canadian Artillery Service to his aunt Marianne "May" Bateman while serving overseas during World War II. Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment, 44th Canadian Field Battery. In his letter, Colin reflects on Christmas dinner and how he celebrated New Years Eve. He also tells of how they put on a party for two hundred and fifty kids in town. The men in service made a bunch of toys and saved candy and chocolate bars from their parcels to gift to the children and one of them handed them out while dressed as Santa Clause. He tells of how he's going on leave again this month and thanks his aunt for gifts that she sent.

- Toy car - Made by Chiko - Japan in late 1950's. Pressed tinplate with a friction motor. The car is red with chrome accents, interior is green with pattern. Driver at wheel.

- Used by Charmaine Yanko. It was a gift from Charmaine's uncle -- her dad's brother, Fred Yanko, who was less than a year younger than John Yanko. The Yanko family lived on Broadway in Burnaby. Annie D. Basiuk (later Yanko) was born on February 25, 1902 in Sheho, Saskatchewan (formerly Sheho, North West Territories). Daniel "Dan" Yanko was born in Kobilnicha, Ukraine in 1887 and immigrated to Canada in May or June of 1905. Daniel Yanko married Annie D. Basiuk and had thirteen children together. Their son, John Ivan Yanko was born on the family farm, near Kelliher, Saskatchewan, on June 27, 1923. In grade six, John was pulled out of school to help support the family. Eugenia “Jenny” Haresomovych (later Carman) was born August 8, 1904 in Galecia, Austria. She came to Canada in 1928, when her parents sent her to live with the Austrian consular in Halifax. A year later, she was in The Pas with Albert Edward Carman, with whom she would have three children. Their daughter, Leida Doria "Lillian Doris" Carman was born in The Pas, Manitoba March 24, 1929. Eugenia “Jenny” (Haresomovych) Carman later re-married Joseph Nagy who was born in Hungary in October 3, 1900. Jenny, Joseph and the children moved to Nelson, British Columbia, where Joseph worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway. At the age of twenty, John Yanko met his future wife Lillian Doris Carman while visiting relatives in Burnaby. Lillian received a rail pass because of her dad’s employment with the CPR and at fourteen had gone to visit her Godmother in Burnaby. John Ivan Yanko and Leida Doria "Lillian Doris" Carman were married October 16, 1948 in Nelson, British Columbia and moved into the basement of John’s sister’s house on Union Street. Lillian began working at the downtown Woodward’s store as a cashier in 1948. In 1950, the young couple bought property at 7385 (later renumbered 7391) Broadway in Burnaby and began constructing a house as they could afford it. Knowing she’d be let go if she was pregnant, when Lillian was expecting her first child, Jenny sewed her several versions of the same outfit; they all used the same material, but each was a little bit larger than the last to accommodate her expanding girth. Rhonda, born in 1953 and Charmaine, born in 1955, grew up in the Broadway home. They attended school at Sperling Elementary, and later at Burnaby North high school. Lillian left her job to be a stay-at-home mom when Rhonda was born, but that changed in 1963 when John and Charmaine were in a car accident that left John temporarily unable to work. Joseph Nagy died April 20, 1962; his wife Eugenia “Jenny” (Haresomovych) (Carman) Nagy passed away August 14, 1985. Daniel "Dan" Yanko died in 1976; his wife Annie D. (Basiuk) Yanko died in 1997. - Helen (Sukkua) Lauder (1910-1995) and Sidney Lauder (1913-1936) had two children, Beverely (Mundreon) (b. 1935) and Douglas (1937-2018). While the children were young the family first lived at Kask Lumber camp before moving to Barnet. While living in Barnet in the 1940s, both children attended Barnet School. While Sidney Lauder fought overseas during WWII, Helen worked as a cook at the mill.

Grace Hospital opened in 1927 at 26th Avenue and Heather Street in Vancouver. The inscription on the card identifies the baby as Isabel Lynne.

- Small grocery or shopping cart. The cart was produced by Folding Carrier Corporation of Oklahoma. This cart is called the Nest Baskart which features a levered back panel to easily nest multiple carts together when not in use.
- The body of the cart is formed by metal spokes welded together to form a cage like pattern.
- The top of the cart has a large basket like area for holding items. The bottom of the cart has a sloped shelf that could have held another removable basket.
- The handle of the cart is covered in a hard black material, possibly hardened rubber or plastic.
- The cart features curved corners along the top and bottom of the basket area.

- It has four columns of keys for dollars and cents, three additional columns of digit keys, and three columns of keys with various functions on them. An addition bar and cancel button are across the base, and a paper tape at the top.
- Sales are not displayed visually by any indicator.
- There is a metal cash drawer that has plastic divisions for change and cash.
- There is a key that slots into a lock on the left side that controls the machine with a lever.

She is standing beside a dog and a cat in an orchard, probably in Kelowna, at her parents' home. Catherine Mary Corner Levins' mother was Edna Bateman Corner, eldest daughter of Edwin W. Bateman, the builder of the house "Elworth" at Burnaby Village Museum.

- Description
- This doll has a china head, hands and feet with fabric body. The neck collar has been broken in the past and there is a crack in the neck of the doll. the dolls head is roughly 7.5 cm in diameter. The glaze is in flesh tones with brown hair and a pink ribbon in the hair. The glaze is worn on the proper left cheek and at the back of the head. The arms and hands and shins and shoes are porcelain. The costume is a pink gingham over skirt on top of a blue gingham ankle length skirt. A knitted blue cape covers both. The doll is also wearing a slip and pantaloons.
- Object History
- Doll named "Lily" who belonged to Muriel (nee McLennan) Allinger. Muriel was born to William and Margaret McLennan in 1915 in BC. The family moved to Capitol Hill in 1919 and the doll was given as a Christmas present the year before. The china head was purchased at Miller and Coe on Hastings Street, in Vancouver in 1918. Muriel's mother made the first body and the first clothing.
